Kurara Chibana was born on March 27 1989 at Naha, Okinawa, Japan. She was a philosophy student at Sophia University. On 2006 she finally got her BA Degree.
She was offered a job, but turned it down to participate in the Miss Japan 2006 pageant. Which was held at Tokyo, Japan on April 25 2006. She won the competition and later participated in the Miss Universe 2006 pageant. There, she won best costume for her samurai/ninja outfit. She also won first runner-up for the Miss Universe 2006 pageant.
