    • In 1960, Larry co-wrote the pilot for the sitcom Perils of Pauline, plotted around a beauty contest winner who comes to Hollywood but can't find acting work. The pilot was not picked up by a network.
    • In 1983, Larry was nominated for an Oscar(along with Murray Schisgal and Don McGuire) at the Academy Awards, USA in the category of Oscar Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen for his work on the 1982 film Tootsie.
    • Humanitas awarded Larry the 2007 Kieser Award, and he gave the keynote address at the 2007 Humanitas Prize luncheon.
