Larry was born on the Yakima Indian Reservation in the State of Washington. The son of a part-Yakima rodeo performer, champion wrestler and sideshow strongman. He remembers at age 3 the long train ride to Houston where he was to spend his boyhood. "I won one or two honors but I wasn't pictured in the high school yearbook."
Larry was often left out as he was not featured on the Hogan's Heroes lunchbox and was left off the credits as Laugh-In writer.
Prior to his death from cancer, Larry was a professor of Drama in Texas.
