As Austin and Ally go on their first date, they find it hard to make the transition from just friends to being a couple. Their relationship is further complicated when their clash over a song they've been asked to write for a movie. Can they maintain both their personal and professional relationships at the same time? Meanwhile, Dez and Trish film a a video to win tickets to the new Zaliens movie.

Austin, Ally, Trish, and Dez go to New York City so Austin can perform at Times Square for New Year's Eve but he was no way to go perform. Jessie wants to sing a song with Austin and when they don't like the lyrics that Jessie wrote, they found a lyric that they wrote but it turned out that it was Zuri so Jessie tries to find a way to make sure they don't find out it was Zuri so it wouldn't ruin her chance to sing a song with Austin.

When Trish gets Austin the privelage of being on the cover of a magazine, she fills out a questionare and makes Austin's life sound more interesting. The reporter for the magazine comes and sees Austin do crazy (andweird) things including: eating bugs and bungee jumping off a bridge (Ally's idea).

As Austin's first album is about to be released, Austin, Dez and Trish help Ally realize her dream by applying for her to get into a prestigious music school. But when Ally is accepted to the school, she must decide whether to go to New York or stay in Miami with her friends.

Austin and the gang are invited to spend the weekend in the Everglades at Shiny Money's houseboat where Austin and Ally must write a song for the Swamp Blast. Meanwhile, Dez and Trish investigate the urban legend of a killer gator named Big Mama.

As the gang waits in line all day at the mall for the release of a new electronic tablet, Austin accidentally loses Ally's pet bird and must retrieve it before she finds out.

Ally and Trish's old music teacher has opened a new soup restaurant in the mall. But when Ally's innocent "twit" causes the restaurant to lose customers, it's up to the gang to make a commercial to save the restaurant and finally earn Ally a gold star from her former teacher.

The gang venture to the beach to help Ally get inspired to write a new summer song for Austin to enter a contest on the radio. However, their plan is detoured when they're detained by the police for breaking into the ice cream shop and they must explain their actions and make it to the beach bash in time for Austin to perform.

When Austin is invited to do his first radio interview, he decides to finally give Ally the recognition she deserves by playing her song on the radio. But when Ally's stage fright prevents her from performing live on the radio, the gang tries to figure out a solution.

A top talent manager is interested in signing Austin as a client, promising to make his dreams come true. But Austin soon learns the price of success may break up Team Austin and cost him his friends.

When Austin is invited to perform at the Miami Internet Music Awards, the gang is excited about attending their first award show. But, when Austin learns he only gets one extra ticket, he must decide whether to invite Ally, Dez or Trish as his guest.

After Ally writes a song that Austin doesn't like, Austin & Ally decide to spend more time together to learn more about each other. Meanwhile, Trish and Dez learn they have more in common than they realized.
