Russell seeks out his destiny.

Salome and the Chancellors celebrate the start of the vampire holy war. Sookie gets a hint about her parents' murder but anti-supernatural enthusiasts put her in danger. Eric plans his escape. Andy and Jason are out looking for leads behind the shifter killings. Alcide remembers how he was initiated into his pack. Arlene is trapped between Terry and Patrick's clash. Steve gets a new pet.

As Sookie embraces her human side, she considers a life without her faerie powers. Salome shows just where her true allegiance rests. Sam uses his sense of smell to locate the shooters. Alcide gets ready for a fight. Lafayette searches for Jesus' body. Hoyt finds himself a new group of friends.

The aftermath at the asylum has Sookie filled with dread. The Authority retrieve Bill and Eric. Pam gets involved when Tara's actions lead to a fight. After receiving an alarming message from Jesus, Ruby Jean gets a visit from Lafayette. Terry thinks a curse is to blame for his predicament. Sam lends Andy a hand with an investigation. Pam does her best to be a good maker to Tara but wonders about the relationship to her own maker, Eric. With a traitor still at large, Roman and Salome go on a hunt. Andy and Jason go to an exclusive party with a judge. Terry experiences a flashback while hunting with Patrick for a former comrade. Old friends visit Sam. Lafayette causes problems for Sookie and Alcide breaks the news of Debbie's death to her parents.

Bill and Eric negotiate with the Vampire Authority to allow them to keep their lives. Sookie asks for Pam's help. There are consequences for Andy's sexual hook-up with Holly. Debbie Pelts' parents come to Andy looking for their daughter. Jason meets up with a former high school teacher.

In New Orleans, Eric and Bill get together with the ancient vampire Salome, a member of the Authority, and become familiar with how the Authority's does interrogation. Pam remembers to back when she was human and when Eric first came into her life. Alcide refuses to take over as the new packmaster. Sam and Luna deal with Marcus' mother who comes looking for Emma. Sookie acquires a system to protect her home should Russell show up. Terry's erratic behavior has Arlene concerned. Jessica receives an offer from Steve Newlin. Jason's life of numerous casual sexual affairs with women weighs heavy on him. Tara resurfaces in Bon Temps.

Sookie and Lafayette deal with the aftermath of Tara's encounter with Debbie Pelt. The Vampire Authority along with a woman from Eric's past make a call on Bill and Eric. Alcide and Sam are faced with an angry werewolf pack. Jessica celebrates her new freedom with some partying. The recently turned Steve Newlin pays a visit to Jason. An old Iraq War buddy reignites Terry's PTSD. Alcide warns Sookie about the resurfaced Russell Edgington.

Brenda and her team, with the help of Buzz' visiting sister Casey, must figure out who sabotaged a zip line leading to Santa Randy's death as he was making his entrance into a Christmas Village. The investigation focuses on Santa Jack McBride as well a stash of drugs and cash that were found at the Village.

The souls of the dead rise up in Bon Temps. Sookie makes some important associations. Jesus and Lafayette's connection is imperiled. Sam and Luna imagine a happy and perfect future. Sookie and Tara are confronted by Debbie.

It's up to Sookie and her powers to keep Bill, Eric and Pam from harm. While Jesus casts a spell, Lafayette is totally absorbed by the past. Sam gets even with Marcus and Alcide deals with Debbie head on. Andy's foray into the forest is filled with deep, overwhelming emotion.

Bill needs Sookie to use her powers which results in breaking a spell. Jessica is implored to glamour Jason. Terry tries to help Andy with an intervention. Alcide reassesses his loyalties. Bill organizes the vampires to attack Marnie's Moon Goddess Emporium while Jesus, Lafayette, Sookie and Jason attempt to free Tara and Holly.

Sookie tries to figure out how to fit both Bill and Eric into her life. Lafayette needs Jesus' help to rid him of the spirit that has taken over. Alcide is called upon by Marcus to help render assistance. Opposing ideas bring Bill into direct conflict with Nan. Marnie secretly plans out the strategy for her next step against the vampires in spite of Tara and Holly's apprehension about the outcome.

Bill and Antonia get ready for an open confrontation. The King secures the loyalty of Sookie and Eric. Jason is conflicted emotionally. A spirit manipulates Lafayette for its own purposes. Sam must deal with Marcus who just happens to be Luna's ex.

Bill passes an order that is generally disliked. Eric eagerly accepts his amnesia. Luna finds out something interesting about Sam. Holly and Andy hook up. Lafayette becomes more aware of his own existence, sensations, thoughts and surroundings. Jessica's not so sure her current relationship has much future. Alcide and Debbie make the decision to join a new werewolf community.
