Born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Stamile describes herself as a "histrionic" child, due to the fact that she was the middle of five children. She performed in her first play at age four and started a theater program at her high school. After majoring in theater at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., Stamile moved to New York to pursue acting professionally.
She landed a role within months of her first audition in the off-Broadway production The Miser
, and later understudied on Broadway for Lion in Winter
. She has also appeared in the independent films Chaos Theory
and the drama Something Sweet
, the latter screening at the American Film Institute's annual festival.
Stamile is relocating from New York to Los Angeles for production on Off-Centre
. When not working, she spends her time taking dance classes, practicing yoga and Pilates, reading, and watching old movies.
