Laurie's band, "The Laurie Berkner Band", currently consists of Laurie, who plays the guitar and sings, Susie Lampert playing the keyboard, and Adam Bernstein playing bass.
Laurie created her own record company, called Two Tomatoes Records, in 1998.
Laurie and her band performed at a free concert in Central Park, in which 15,000 fans attended, as part of a nationwide Earth Day celebration, in April 2007.
Laurie and her band performed at the White House Easter Egg Roll event in April, 2000.
Laurie appeared in November 2006 in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on the Fisher-Price float.
Laurie and her husband Brian have one child, a daughter named Lucy.
Laurie and her band have released four CD's: Whaddaya Think of That (1997), Buzz, Buzz (1998), Victor, Vito (1999), and Under a Shady Tree (2002).
Laurie has stated that musicians Beck, Liz Phair, Aimee Mann, Dennis Kamakahi and Ali Farka Toure all are inspirations for her.
Laurie is married to Brian Mueller, the former bass player of her band.
