Lawrence Kaplow: We get excited when we find a really bad disease. We're happy. We're saying "Oooh, someone's spleen can fall out their eyeball. That's fantastic. And it strikes children. This is so cool!" Because for us, it really is great, to find something that plays on all those emotions. But there are real people out there with real diseases, the ones that are on the show, and then we get letters saying thank you so much for showing X.

Lawrence Kaplow: (On getting a Writers Guild award for "Autopsy") I was shocked that I was nominated at all. And thrilled. And thought, well, there's no way. And then getting the award was thrilling.

Lawrence Kaplow: (about House) I guess I'm happy people see him as a role model. I just don't want to be friends with those people.
