  • Quotes

    • Lisa: (claiming she met her father, Elvis, through a medium in 2008) This was my dad, this was Elvis coming through. It was so overwhelming that I started to cry. The most comforting thing he told me is that even though he's not here physically any more he is still with me and he watches over the babies too.

    • Lisa Marie (about her mother Priscilla being on Dancing With the Stars): She can dance. She can dance well. I'm just going to be so nervous. I don't want to be in the audience. I'll be in the back... biting whatever's left of my nails off!

    • Lisa Marie (on if her experience with the tabloids regarding her pregnancy will be a possible theme for her next album): I don't want to make it all about that. It'll be whatever's on my mind, everyday. That's usually what I write anyway.

    • Lisa Marie (when she found out the tabloids were speculating about her weight): Yeah, it was pretty gnarly. That was an unexpected attack--assault... To have somebody sitting here, taking photographs of you that are really unflattering, you don't really know anything about it, and... [tabloids putting] it in some weird, unnecessary, unhealthy, bad light was what sort of crossed the line.

    • Lisa Marie: (after revealing she was pregnant following jibes she was putting on weight) Once they got a glimpse of my expanding physique a few days ago, they have been like a pack of coyotes circling their prey whilst eerily howling with delight. Starting with a London publication and then New York and Chicago all writing false, defamatory, degrading stories about all of the dark possible reasons I could be putting on weight.

    • Lisa: I'm not a yoga and health girl. I don't exercise that much and I eat crap.

    • Lisa: I've produced something that was mine, that I'm proud of, so it helps me hold my head up a bit higher. It's not based on some other B.S. that I'm getting attention. I get attention for the right reasons, which makes me happy with the record.

    • Lisa: I thought of putting the record out under another name, and I thought about putting it out under a band name, or anonymously - I ran through everything. Andy Slater, the president of Capitol, and I tend to battle a lot, and he always wins - so far. He persuaded me to put the record out under my own name.

    • Lisa: I had to do this record for me. I don't like attention on me, and that's a problem, but if I get it, I'd rather have it because I made a record and not because of who I married or who my dad was.

    • Lisa: The biggest struggle, and why I took so long, was to get me to compromise enough to put records on that were sort of safe and radio-friendly. What I tend to go towards is ambience and a vibe. I didn't go for a style, which is why the whole thing is a potpourri of I don't know what.

    • Lisa: (On her father) One thing he had was a lot of pride and dignity and if anybody tries to take it away, I'm kind of hardcore with that.
