Born on February 22, 1975 in Long Island, New York, Liza Huber came into the family of legendary soap star Susan Lucci and her husband Helmut Huber. Growing up in the Long Island town of Garden City, Liza was a high school cheerleader and a competitive equestrian.
After graduating from high school, she attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and obtained her degree in Communications with a specialty in Film Production. In 1995, Liza made her television debut in the Lifetime original movie

When Passions first aired in 1999, Liza starred as Gwen Hotchkiss, until she left the show in 2000 for two years. While she was gone from the show, Liza concentrated in theater work, and co-produced and starred in the play Four Dogs and a Bone at the Harold Clurman Theatre in New York City. In 2002, Liza returned to the role she originated on Passions, where she picked up where her replacement left off as the vindictive Gwen Hotchkiss (later Winthrop).
Offscreen, Liza has been married to her childhood sweetheart Alexander Hesterberg III since March 2004.
