Birthplace:
New Jersey, USA
Birth Name:
Elizabeth Audrey Weil
Although born in New Jersey, Liza Weil, popular for her role as Paris Geller during the seven seasons of the WB dramedy Gilmore Gilrs, spent much of her childhood traveling throughout Europe with her parents, who themselves were actors in a comedy troupe. Liza began performing in local theater as early as age seven, and when her family took up residence in Pennsylvania, her mom started accompanying her for auditions in New York. With the guidance and support of her parents, Liza, who had no formal acting training,More began going to auditions in Manhattan by herself when she turned 16. Before graduating from North Penn High School in 1995, she got involved in the school's drama program and made her theatrical debut in The Speed of Darkness at the Montgomery Theatre in Souderton.

Weil's first professional gigs were in regional and summer stock theater productions and a few off-Broadway plays. Determined to realize her dream, Liza then relocated to New York City where she attended Columbia University. While there, she began doing student films and eventually landed her film debut role as Anna Stockard, the female lead character in the drama Whatever, which premiered at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival. The following year, Liza played Debbie Kozac, the babysitter in Kevin Bacon-led thriller Stir of Echoes. After doing the film, she settled in Los Angeles, California to focus on her career in film and television. In 2002, she got to work with Kevin Costner in the mystery drama Dragonfly.

On television, among the memorable characters Weil played were the wife of a murderous schizophrenic patient on ER and an intern responsible for leaking a White House staffer's drug and alcohol problem in an episode of The West Wing. In 2000, Liza auditioned for the role of Rory Gilmore in the comedy-drama Gilmore Girls and while the part of the younger Gilmore girl went to Alexis Bledel, something about Liza's personality compelled the creators to conceive the character of Paris Eustace Geller, Rory's highly competitive and extremely driven schoolmate in Chilton Academy. Later on, the two developed an unusual friendship throughout their years at Yale. After the series ended in 2007, Weil has made guest appearances in prime-time shows like CSI and Grey's Anatomy.

Weil has been married to Paul Adelstein (Privat Practice) since 2006.

Played Paris on the hit show Gilmore Girls. hide show

Liza Weil played Paris, Alexis (Rory's) best friend on the show, (well besides Lane) on the hit show Gilmore Girls. Lisa played Paris's part very, very, very well. She was serious when she had to be and then was very funny when she had to be also. She did an excellent job with the role and is a person that you can look up to. She is one of my favorite actresses from the show.

    A wonderful actress. hide show

I first seen Liza Weil in the show Gilmore Girls and i thought that she was wonderful in the show as Paris Geller. She made you believe that she was really like Paris and that. She did a great job with that role. It is hard for me to see in a non agressive role because of her part on Gilmore Girls. I seen Liza Weil in a brief part in the West Wing which is another role that she did a wonderful job with. It just seemed a little weird to see her as a different person and a different show but I hope to see her in shows in the future.

Liza Weil is very talented. hide show

I have watched Liza on her role in the show "Gilmore Girls" and she plays the lines very well. Not only does she really try to nail the lines she's given, she does them with the exact way that they should be done. It's very entertaining to watch her on the show, and I enjoy this actress very much. She's talented, and comes from a family that seems to support her with her acting career. I have to say, Liza Weil is fun to watch, and she should be in more shows and/or movies.

Liza Weil has a great sense of humor, has a great personalitiy, and is perfectfor her role in Gilmore Girls. hide show

In her role in Gilmore Girls Liza plays corky, funny, serious, strange character Paris. She always tries to help anyone who she thinks she needs to help. She acts serious and is supposed to be Rory's competotor in school, so Rory can keep acheiving. They become best friends and chat about everything. She has 2 sides when speaking with Rory, at the newspaper its serious and as friends they talk about boys, school, and anything else on their mind. Rory and Paris have been through a lot. Whether its dealing with boy problems, being roomates, dealing with school, or just dealing Paris is always there for Rory.
