As a teen, Fonseca starred in community theater productions of Friends at the Moraga Playhouse in California. She also appeared in a stage production of The Wizard of Oz.

Before Lyndsy began professional acting, she attended the Barbizon School of Modeling in San Francisco.

Being home-schooled since 7th grade, Lyndsy never went to an actual high school. However, many of her roles required her to play the role of a high school student, the first of which were her appearances on
Boston Public.

Lyndsy was supposed to have a recurring role as a cheerleader on
Heroes, but she was cut out due to scheduling conflicts with
Desperate Housewives.

Lyndsy is featured in the Success Stories section on the website of Barbizon Modeling and Acting Centers, from which she is a graduate.

During time away from work, Lyndsy enjoys hiking with her pet Lhasa Apsa, Ronnie. She also hangs out with her friends. She also enjoys rollerblading, soccer, skiing, and dancing.

In 2008, Lyndsy was nominated for an SAG Award along with her
Desperate Housewives castmates for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. They were also nominated the following year.

If she weren't an actress, Lyndsy would want to do a musical score for a film, choose the film's soundtrack, and work with composers.

She admits to have real bad eyesight althought most people do not know it.

Her father is Jim Fonseca and her mother is Lima Dworkin. She has a younger half-sister
Hannah Leigh Dworkin, who is also an actress. Her stepdad is Reid Dworkin.
