Lynne began her professional career after studying acting at the Pasadena Playhouse and the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, IL. Complementing her stage credits were a number of roles in feature films including appearing opposite Richard Pryor in Some Kind of Hero, White Dog, The Evil starring Richard Crenna and Joanna Pettet, Las Vegas Lady with Stella Stevens and Scream, Blacula, Scream with Pam Grier. Lynne has been a regular on four network television series That's My Mama, E.R., Soap, and Knots Landing with recurring roles on Hill Street Blues, Lou Grant, Love and War, Clueless and Chicago Hope before joining General Hospital. Her long list of guest starring roles on television include Arli$$, Beverly Hills, 90210, Walker, Texas Ranger, Trials of Rosie O'Neill, Amen, Murder She Wrote, Magnum, P.I., The Love Boat, T.J. Hooker (2 episodes) Trapper John M.D., All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Quincy, Tenspeed & Brownshoe, 21 Jump Street and MacGyver. She has also starred in numerous television movies including co-starring with Deborah Raffin in Nightmare in Badham County, Ditch Digger's Daughter with Carl Lumbly, Escape to Witch Mountain with Brad Dourif, Last Light with Kiefer Sutherland and Forest Whitaker, Ellen Foster with Julie Harris, Ray Alexander: A Taste for Justice with Louis Gossett Jr. then reprised her role in Ray Alexander: Menu for Murder and with Helen Hayes in A Caribbean Mystery. Lynne starred in the mini-series, The Atlanta Child Murders. One of the most memorable roles for Lynne was playing Irene, Alex Haley's great grandmother in the critically acclaimed, history making ABC mini-series, Roots with LeVar Burton, John Amos and Georg Stanford Brown and then reprising the role in Roots II: The Next Generation with Henry Fonda.
