Lockhart Gardner represents two women who believe their website was sabotaged by a competitor. Meanwhile, Eli tries to cover up a story about an affair that may damage Peter's campaign. Kalinda involves Lana Delenay in the already complicated relationship she has with Nick.

Lockhart-Gardner's Legal Aid offers support to a policewoman who is accused of shooting her husband for insurance money. Alicia makes a sudden realization about her personal life, and Will finds out a shocking detail about Wendy's investigation.

When someone close to Alicia goes missing she realises she has a tough decision to make. Kalinda makes a move that puts her closer to Alicia again. Michael J Fox returns as Louis Canning.

Lockhart-Gardner takes on the U.S. Government for a military contractor who claims that he was tortured by the army in Afghanistan. While Diane and the team go through boxes of documents, mostly blacked out, Alicia must meet with a government monitor whose authority overrides attorney/client privilege. When counsel reveals damning evidence about the client, Alicia is asked by the monitor to reveal the evidence that would lead to his imprisonment… and if she doesn't, she may have to go to prison herself. So Alicia gets an attorney to help her with the questioning. At the State's Attorney's office, Peter decides to go after Will Gardner, who stole money from a client at his old firm in order to take care of his gambling addiction.

Alicia and Will have to reserve a hotel room when a case they're working on goes overtime. Eli gets some bad press when he takes on the job of helping a cheese guild do damage control on a poisoning scare.

Alicia defends a Muslim student who is accused of murdering a Jewish classmate, all while navigating the new developments in her personal life. Meanwhile, the staff of Lockhart/Gardner deal with new changes as well.
