Marc Jacobs is fashion designer. He went to the High School of Art and Design and graduated in 1981, then he entered the Parsons School of Design in NYC. At Parsons, he was awarded with the Perry Ellis Gold Thimble award in 1984 and the Chester Weinberg Gold Thimble Award of the Design Student of the Year.

In Parsons, Jacobs designed hand knit sweaters. He did a collection for Reuben Thomas (in 1984) and formed a partnership with Robert Duffy. In 1986, he designed his first collection with the name Marc Jaobs. In 1987, he was the youngest actor to be awarded by The Council of Fashion Designers of America Perry Ellis Award of Fashion Talent.

Marc Jacobs joined Perry Ellis in 1989 along with Duffy. Marc was vicepresident of women's design. In 1992 he won The Women's Designer of the Year award.

Jacobs currently works at Vuitton (he started in 1997). His clothing lines, Marc Jacobs and a more cheap line Marc By Marc Jacobs (in 2000) are too popular.

The 12 of March in 2007, he checked into rehab for drug abuse.
