Marcia Cross

Marcia Cross is really and excellent actress. I've seen her work closely and I'm really amazed how she can performe all kind of roles. But the one I'll be talking about is her role in Desperate Housewives. As Bree Van De Kamp, later Bree Hodge, Marcia had caught my attention, her personality and the way she handle things is one of the reasons that Desperate Housewives is one of my favorite TV series. The sundays I've a 8pm curfew thanks to this lady. She´s really hardcore. Sha can do everything, with her ellegance and sarcastical diplomacy, all I can say is that Marcia Cross is a big asset to DH and for the american television.

Marcia Anne Cross is a very talented emmy award winning actress who plays 'perfect/desperate' Bree Van De Kamp Hodge on desperate housewives. she portrays Bree so perfectly! I love it how she could make Bree so cold then in real life be so easy-going and kind, (and laugh. bree can't lol). and, while she was pregnant with Eden and Savannah, (her twin daughters) she still acted until she was ordered to bed rest. now, she has to act and raise her daughters. the question now is: what will she do after DH? we'll need to wait and see!

Let me just start out by saying that I absolutely love Marcia Cross as an actress. I think that she is such a wonderful and talented actress. I first became a huge fan of hers' when I saw her on the TV show Everwood. Marcia Cross is the reason that I decided to watch Desperate Housewives when it started, and Marcia's character, Bree, has always been my favorite character on the show. She plays the role of Bree perfectly. Marcia is so good at doing a wide range of acting, whether she's doing dramatic or comedic material, she always does it perfectly. Like I said at the beginning of my review, I absolutely love Marcia Cross as an actress, and I can't wait to see what her career has in store for her.

Marcia Cross is so amazing. She shines on screen. She is very talented. She is a very devoted actress. She continued to film Desperate Housewives, while she was 5 months pregnant with twins. She is very pretty. She married Tom Mahoney in June 2006. They were engaged since August 2005. They had twins Savannah and Eden on February 20, 2007. They are very lucky. She gives a very amazing performance, especially on Desperate Housewives and Seinfeld. She is gifted. In Desperate Housewives, she had such strong storylines. Her character became an alcoholic, married a suspected murderer, abandoned her son in the middle of nowhere, her son came out of the closet, her daughter was sleeping with a teacher, she temporarily went through a divorce, her husband died, she dated an sex addict, she was engaged to a crazy pharmacist who killed her husband, put up with her new mother-in-law and her husband's suspected to be dead ex-wife, who ended up trying to get pregnant with him, and lost a friendship with another housewife over her suspected murderer husband. That was only in 60 episodes. She portrays the role beautifully. She is very talented. She is perfect, especially when it comes to acting.

Marcia Cross is one of the greatest actresses TV has ever seen.She is so talented and such a great actress that she brings a new look to the series.She is typical for taht role of Bree because she makes her look hilarious,mad and the best housewive of the show.She acts as the perfect stict housewive and mother but evrythin fails in front of her eyes.She wants everything to be perfect and Marcia makes Bree so believable that we think of her as a really existing woman.Marcia needs a recognition from Emmys and Golden Globes too as she has never won such a big award for her role as Bree Van de Kamp.

In the first season,Marcia Cross is not so well known actress but her performance as Bree made her popular to nearly every person in the world.She really deserves Emmy for the role but Felicity Huffman got the award although for me the performance of Marcia is better.She is also noinated for Golden Globe award but she looses again to a 'housewive'-Teri Hatcher.Teri's performance is great too but can be comparable to taht of Marcia Cross.

In the season two,none of the actreses gave such great performances as in the first season but marcia remains great.She receives Golden Globe nomination for the second year but it not recognized by the Emmy voters.

The first part of the third season,Marcia is flawless but her pregnancy keeps her apart from the show.

Truly,one of the greatest actresses nowadays that can be comparable to the big screen actors.

What more can I say?

I simply think she's an amazing woman of classic beauty. And really intelligent and funny, too!

She herself says not to be like her desperate houewives caracter 'Bree van de Kamp' at all and calls her "Martha Stewart on Steroids."

I think it's really impressive that she finished her psych studies while shooting tv-shows.

I really recommend to watch a couple of interviews with her on youtube. com or whatsoever. I think she is really delightful and I hope to see her in many more movies and tv-shows!

She's a good atress for Desperate Housewives. Her role as Bree van de Kamp is nice, a very troubling one at that because Andrew has rocked her world and Rex has problames with his health and sex life.



She's beautiful, but yet I'm too young so I'm not taht attracted to her. She's a great actress and knows how to act. P.S. her crying in DH Season i finale sounded like laughing, but anyways....

She is with no doubt one of the best TV series actresses nowadays! She is great looking even though ahes not in her 20's anymore, and she is incredibly talented... she proved to be a great actress deserving to be in a big show as one of the main charachters... she would probably handle herself really great if she had her own show, and would problably have grat ratings in her own ahow too!

I think tha when Desperate Housewives is done, Marcia should have her ouw show, so she can really ahow her talents and skills without having to share air time with so many other co-stars.

Kimberly Shaw on Melrose Place was a great television character! I actually think that Kimbery was the best character of the whole show! I remember being SO ANGRY about Michael, for treating Kimberly so bad *smile*. And Kimberly's comeback to the show was really great. Unfortanaly, Kimbery is the only one of Marcia's television roles that I have really liked.



I really hoped that "Bree" on Desperate Housewives would be a succes - but she really isn't! Actually: Marcia Cross' acting on Desperate Housewives is really bad! She just isn't funny. Felicity Huffman, to name one, is so much better!

Very talanted actress that is pregnant and plays Bree. It was very interesing to describe her part between my friends. Everybody loves her because she's a little crazy, maybe not a little, but... evrybody likes her! Looking back on her past I wish her luck and happiness with her husband. Isn't it dangerous to born in such an age?

She's very classy and she's got this matured beauty. She's also a great actrice. It's amazing to see her play the role of classy, uptight Bree Van de Kamp in Desperate housewives and then see her in Everwood as the world travelling Linda Abott. I just recently saw her on Everwood and I was afraid I would only see her as Bree, but she managed to create these two people who are completely different and when you look at them you don't see Marcia Cross but you see the character she plays, even in the details.

Well, I don't like her character Bree that much (maybe it's because of that robotic perfection going on), although the character seems interesting sometimes. Marcia looks OK and seems like a talented star. I hope that I will see her in a movie or soemthing soon! I hope that I won't get that impression of Bree when she acts somewhere else.

I am a huge fan of Cross' work on Desperate Housewives. She is classy, talented, and poised. As the seasons on DH have went by, her character has grown with her acting. The first season ender where her on-screen husband Rex died was just magnificent. The second season, although not so great with the other actresses, shown with Marcia. Her entire ordeal with the lover that committed suicide and then her spiral into depression and alcoholism was brilliantly portrayed. As a person, I am so happy for Marcia and her new husband, Tom, and their new baby twins! I wish her luck and happiness in the future.

When I first started watching Desperate Housewives, I wasn't particularly excited about Marcia Cross's character, Bree. Without my even realizing it was happening, though, she has become my hands-down favorite of the housewives, and possibly my favorite character on the show overall. I think Marcia's acting is phenomenal, especially given the particular quirks of the character she plays. She really embodies Bree and is utterly believable. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to see her as a character other than Kimberly from Melrose Place, but her newest role has fully supplanted that one in my brain.

Words do not describe how talented and wonderful an actress Narcia Cross is. For years she has braced our screen in various diffrent shows. On Melrose Place she was still learning to act. By the time Everwood came around she was the most beautiful and most talented actress on TV. She made Everwood and when she left the show was never the same. Her skills just got better when it was time for her to take on the role of the best housewive, Bree Van De Kamp. Marcia is one of the kindest, most talented actress we have seen on Television. It's about time she got the full recpgnition she so obviously needs and deserves. To Marcia Cross- THE GREATEST (and most Gorgeous) actor in the entire world

Marcia Cross is a really great actress who is the reason that I keep tuning into Desperate Housewives each week. If she were to ever leave the show, I would no longer watch. Marcia has truly made Bree van de Kamp into a memorable television character and I am so glad that she has gotten such well-deserved attention this second time around.



Besides undeniable talent, Marcia just appeals to me for so many different reasons:



1) With her, it's clear that the focus is the acting and I appreciate the fact that I don't see her plastered on the cover of every other magazine each month.



2) In addition, I like her personality. She's rather private but I accept that and at least she doesn't provide way too much information like some of her less talented co-stars. It's a trait that I appreciate not just in Marcia but also with her talented co-star Felicity Huffman as well.



3) Also I think she's gorgeous, but doesn't merely coast by on her looks. Her acting is clearly the real deal and I hope that she is around in the industry long after DH ends.

I have to say i'm from Poland so i haven't seen any other tv seris staring marcia cross exept of cours Desperate Housewives.

I think she's doing really great.

The character of Bree has developed enormously since the first episode.

I didn't like her at first but now i really do. Of course it's also because of the writers who gave her opportunity to play a lot in last few episodes.

And she also seams like a normal person. I don't, know she's like 30 something and she getting married for the firs time.

Marcia plays Bree Van de Kamp of the hit show Desperate Houswives. Few (if any) could play a character like Bree (obsessive,uptight, and somewhat controlling) and still portray why the chracter is so likable. I was shocked that she hasn't won anything for her portrayal of Bree- she was robbed, especially recently with the advent of her drinking storyline.



I have also seen and enjoyed Marcia's work on Everwood, where she play Dr. Abbott's sister who had a romantic relationship with Andy Brown.



Marcia has a long career ahead of her now that Desperate Housewives has put her in the spotlight that she so definitely deserves.

(This review is written spontaneously without referring to Marcia’s other acting credit. It is based solely on her performance in desperate housewives and those scenes that I can recall. This is general and there might be additional reviews to come.)



Marcia Gross. Her red hair perfectly matched by her bright green eyes. Her facial expressions show a mixture of kindness and mischief, which make her more mysterious and an ideal candidate to play the role of Bree van de Kamp in desperate housewives. I think she has the stereotypic look as a perfect housewife (three cheers to the one who cast her) that increases the reality of the show, and her portrayal also makes her the most lovable character not only in desperate housewives, but a character among all that had ever been created.

Words do not have to be written here to prove, and people are well aware that, Marcia is a great, excellent actress. Honestly, her acting skills are beyond description (which I’ll still try my best to do that, mark my irony). I guess she chooses a simple, gentle but effective approach to convey the message of each scene, to tell the story of Bree and best of all, to be able to grasp audiences’ sympathy and emotions together with her throughout the whole journey – that ability of her is priceless, and us subconsciously to let our feelings be dragged along her family drama is even more priceless.

Ever from the beginning, we have been exposed to all the crazy things she does – the words she says, the way she behaves, and (according to Rex) the bizarre way her hair doesn’t move. The tough look she gives to her friends, giving her the impression that there’s nothing she can’t handle, but ironically, the slightest change in her life can make her lose them all. To be able to act like that must be difficult, but with Marcia and her acting talents, she just makes them all seemed so easy.

Let me recall some of the classic, or I would rather say, my favorite scenes. First, when she tried to seduce Rex in the motel, is just something we do not expect Bree would do (thumbs - up for the one who thinks of this great idea). She is truly, smashingly sexy and attractive in that scene, plus her fur coat and fiery, red lingerie, WOW! When she went to visit Maisy Gibbons to get her to erase Rex’s name from the ‘little black book’, and she was refused, that little action she did with her lips… adorable! When she got drunk in the department store, and her sponsor said he liked her just fine, she said, ‘because I don’t.’ That scene truly captures the hearts of all. However, nothing beats the scene from where she told Rex that the best is yet to come, all the way till the part where she was cleaning the silverware when she received the call from the hospital on Rex’s death. Only with her acting skills, Marcia is able to move us to tears by finished cleaning the wedding silver before breaking down, which I’m quite amazed she doesn’t win any awards based on her performance. Maybe in the 2nd year people will find the beauty in her acting and award her what she deserves.

I guess with such a powerful performance, we can only have one problem: what happens if she had already given her best, the maximum of her abilities? If she doesn’t perform better than, or even as good as how she is now, will the show go downside fast? Let us all hope, and pray that it will never happen, that we’ll have more to expect from her, and she will continue to shock and surprise us with her flexible skills. And with a star as talented as she is, I guess we’ll all be saved.

With steely eyes, a bone china complexion & a sleek hair style, Marcia Cross puts me in mind of b/w movie starlets(Veronica Lake, Greta Garbo). She did a villainous star turn in Melrose Place(better than Heather Locklear's character), it took the producers a couple of seasons to give her regular billing in the show's opening credits. I've seen her guest in shows like Knots Landing, Quatum Leap, Spin City & Ally McBeal often playing slightly psychotic types. I couldn't stand Everwood(F****** S***) and was glad she made the move to the far superior Desperate Housewives. In DH her character Bree is manic,comic & tragic. I hope Bree's in it for the long haul as Marcia deserves the global recognition.

i'm a big marcia cross fan! she is a personal favorite.i'm not a fan of Her character bree.Bree is a drunken perfect person and she needs to get help.She right now is gettting help but she needs to get more ever since her husband rex died she has'nt spent time with her kids when this is the time they need her the most.George was a very scary person and need to be put into a mental instuttw and need to be locked up bree should have never dated him,Bree neeeds to get her act together and be as perfect insode as her apperance is.

I have to be honest, like the other some of the other housewives, I didn't really know who Marcia Cross was until she appeared in her role as Bree Van De Kamp in Desperate Housewives, and then I noticed her in other films and TV Shows. For instance I had no idea she used to be on Melrose Place or Everwood, but its funny when someone becomes famous, you notice them in their earlier work. The main reason I watch Desperate Housewives is for Marcia Cross. What I love about her character is how she is always so perfect and proper without fault and never fails to entertain. I enjoyed many of her quotes, in particular "Rex cries after he ejaculates" and Rex: "Bree... I think I'm having a heart attack!" Bree: "No, you're not!" just to name a few. I also thought it was funny when Rex passed away, she waited exactly until 12:00 to call Lynette, and then said 'I have some news, Rex died.' I really enjoy watching this show, and I hope to continue seeing Marcia Cross in the future performing at her best. She is a very talented actress and I will enjoy watching her.

I love her character Bree on Desperate Housewives, is my favorite on the show and i feel the most funny in all the housewives. I feel that her talent hasn\'t been discovered by the critics because she deserves to win every nomination of the stunning performance on her scenes. She is going to be on of the time greatest because she know how to act and how to play a role as it is written on the script. Way to go Marcia! (thoug I know you\'re not going to read this)

She's absolutely amazing. She was/is the best actress with the best performance on both Melrose Place and Desperate Housewives. She's attractive, funny, and most importantly an outstanding actress. Her scenes are the most famous on television and her performance never goes unnoticed. The characters the played will forever be remembered.

Marcia Cross is really talented actress in MP. Her transformations from KIMBERLY to BETSY (puritanian girl), from BETSY to RITA (who makes erotic act with sigarette), from RITA to Dieing Kimberly (with unoperable tumor in brain) show her talent. Her expression of sad, tragedy and love is so natural that we have tears watching MP in Russia.

Her role of Dr. KIMBERLY SHAW is tragic, but it helps us to understand the laws of life. KIMBERLY sometimes is mad, she explodes the building, she poisones her husbend, she has shizophrenia and wishes to do labotomy to her doctor. But when she is diagnosted wih brain tumor and aneurism we ... forgive her. KIMBERLY tries to do her husband's life happy...

So, to play KIMBERLY is very difficult, because she is impulsive, crazy (sometimes), but she is also loving and attractive women with tragic life. But Marcia Cross really did it! Thats whu she is talanted!!!

As a fan of Desperate Housewives, I am most impressed with Marcia Cross. Not only does she have some of the most comically scripted scenes, I also think she by far outshines the other ladies in delivering those lines, and getting into character. If you have not had the pleasure to see Desperate Housewives yet, I really recommend doing so as you are missing out on a superb show, and wonderful actress.
