When Maria was a baby, she was adopted from Siberia and brought to the United States by her adoptive mother Peggy.

Maria was born in 1997.

Maria hates to color pink and considers it and all its shades "evil."

Maria has a written contract with her mother, that when she turns 10 years old, Maria can get a non-allergenic dog.

When Maria has to do a scene that involves her crying, she thinks of her mother dying.

In 2006, Maria was nominated for 'Best Performance in a TV Series (Comedy or Drama) - Young Actress Age Ten or Younger' for her role in Medium.

Prior acting on Medium, Maria attended a private school in New York.

Before Maria gets any of her fan mail, her mother opens and reads all of them to make sure they are safe and appropriate for Maria.

Maria is represented by Mollo Management, Inc.

Maria had to move from New York to Los Angeles to star in Medium.

Maria got into acting after an acting scout contacted her mother and asked if Maria could do a couple commercial auditions. Initially her mother rejected the offer, but after finding out that one commercial could pay for an entire year of her daughter's tuition, her mother said yes.

In Maria's spare time, she enjoys staying at home, laying back, relaxing and enjoying her favorite TV shows.

Maria hates wearing anything pink and/or frilly.

Maria is right handed.

Maria enjoys swimming, ice skating, reading encyclopedias and the "Harry Potter" series, going to the movies, playing Gameboy, and watching television.

As of 2006, Maria resides in Los Angeles with her adoptive mother Peggy.

Maria's favorite actor is Orlando Bloom.

Maria can cry on cue.

Maria is still a big fan of Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, despite his death in 2006 and wished she had met him.

Although she stars on the hit show Medium, Maria said on The Tonight Show, that sometimes she can't even bear to watch Medium because she thinks it is quite scary.

Maria loves watching Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, and Nickelodeon. Her favorite show is That's So Raven.
