Mariel Hemingway was born November 22, 1961 in Mill Valley, California. The American actress and writer is the granddaughter of the famous writer, Ernest Hemingway. Her first appearance was in the film Lipstick in 1976 and she was nominated as Best Newcomer for the Golden Globes Award that year, even though the movie was not considered very good. Her portrayal as Tracy in Woody Allen's romantic comedy, Manhattan, that was released in 1979, is her most famous role. She was 16 years old at the time of filming, and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her work. Hemingway married Stephen Crisman in 1984 and the couple had two daughters before they separated in 2008. In addition to acting in film as well as television, she has hosted the monthly television show Spiritual Cinema and also a series of yoga practice videos called Yoga Now with guru Rodney Ree. She also has a perfume named "Mariel."
