Marj Dusay

Marj says her favorite leisure activity is golf.

When psychic John Edwards held a group reading at the Guiding Light studio, Marj was "contacted" by her late mother who told Marj that she must forgive herself for not being there when she died. For years, Marj had been consumed by guilt for not arriving home before her mother had passed away.

After becoming a young mother of two, Marj picked up a gig as a department-store model for extra money. The job eventually led to other modeling and commercial work in New York.

Marj appeared in the Italian magazine, Telepia, in January of 1988.

Marj calls her Guiding Light co-star Murray Bartlett, "so cute". In July of 2007, their two characters were married on the show.

Marj supports many charities, one of her favorite is Project Angel Food, which helps to provide meals to people with AIDS.

Marj calls Manhattan a virtual stage. She loves to explore New York City, especially the parts that are new to her.

Marj says her favorite vacation spot is anywhere she hasn't been before. She also likes to visit Italy, France, and the Orient.

In 2005, Marj and several other Guiding Light stars were let go due to budget cuts. A short time later they were brought back, but this time, on recurring status.

In January 2007, Marj and the cast of Guiding Light, traveled to Biloxi, MS to help rebuild homes of Hurricane Katrina victims.

Marj was the Kansas Film Commission Chairwoman for four years.

Marj appeared in stage productions of Good Will Hunting, Outward Bound, and The Care and Custody of Barbara Moon.

Marj is excellent at doing impressions. She can impersonate everyone from Katharine Hepburn and Julia Child to Marilyn Monroe.

Marj is an original member of the improvisational comedy group The Session.

In 1995, Marj was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in the category of Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series.

Marj is on the Kansas University Advisory Board for the Theatre Arts.

Marj is a descendent of composer Anton Dvorak.

Marj was both the prom queen of her high school and the homecoming queen of her university.

As a child, Marj was nicknamed "country rodeo queen" because of her gifted horse riding skills.
