Mark Deklin

Birth Name

Mark was born in Pittsburgh, where he was active in local & high school theater before heading off to Penn State University; though he continued acting for fun, he was determined not to make it his profession, and received his B.A. in English & History. Upon graduating, he went to work for Greenpeace for a year before heading to Indiana University to teach freshman English & earn an M.A. in Literature (still taking acting classes & doing local theater all the while, just for fun).

Finally, though, he stopped kidding himself & moved to Seattle to be an actor professionally, earning his M.F.A. from the University of Washington, along with his union cards and a Certification with the Society of American Fight Directors. He then moved to New York, where he continued to establish himself both as an actor and as a fight director. He now divides his time between New York & Los Angeles. He has a wife, Jamie, and two dogs, Zoe and Oscar.

In addition to his film & TV credits, Mark's theater credits include:

Broadway: "Cyrano de Bergerac" (with Kevin Kline and Jennifer Garner), "The Lion King" (Scar), "Sweet Smell of Success" (with John Lithgow). Off-Broadway & other NY stage: "Macbeth" (title role), "Arms & the Man", "As You Like It", "Six-Six-Sixty", "Measure for Measure", "Tallulah Hallelujah", "The Alchemist", "Antony & Cleopatra", "Home of the Brave".
