Since Star Wars I knew Mark Hamill was Luke Skywalker. Then when I saw that he played the villian Fire Lord Ozai in Avatar: The Last Airbender I decided to check his profile out on TV.com. Nobody was editor so I decided to start submitting stuff and eventually I became editor. I liked Mark Hamill's appearance on The Simpsons. He has done many voice roles my favourites being on Avatar: The Last Airbender, Futurama, Danny Phantom, and The Simpsons. My favourite appearance of his was definitly when he played Luke Skywalker in Star Wars. Overall Mark Hamill is a great actor.
He perfectly captured the Joker's exuberance and insanity. Not since Cesar Romero in the 60's has an actor been so synonymous with the character. He effortlessly shifts his voice from threatening, to jovial to insane, to a lighthearted. The shifting and never breaking character or sounding like he is 'putting on a voice,' like other voice actors do, especially when asked to play a character with such an extreme personality is what makes his version of the Joker so vibrant and believable.
In closing let me remind you of Hamill's Cackle, that maniacal laugh which is the calling card of the Joker, is music to the ears of all true lovers of this iconic character. An icon that now has a voice!
To me, it is so unfair that Mark Hamill is overlooked. I mean, no sooner does this guy get his foot in the door of being in Hollywood's world, he immediately grabs a job to star in the biggest trilogy movie franchise of all time! But as soon as that was done, it was like: "Whoops! Sorry! You're no longer in despite your cult following! But good luck though!" Deep down inside, you know Mark Hamill has got to be &!$$#& off that Harrison Ford is making like a trillion dollars per every movie he appears in while Mark Hamill is lucky if he can land a halfway decent acting job on an animated T.V. show! I mean, in all honesty, I think Mark Hamill deserves better than what he has gotten and he should be getting it. I mean, he's got to be the least respected A-list actor currently in existance, and that's a crying shame as he's got real talent! I mean, he must if he can play Both a hero and a villain! I mean, this is the Best version of The Joker we're talking about! Hopefully someday, his talent will Really be appreciated and he's going to land another good movie gig and when that day comes, fans everywhere are going to cheer! Enough said, true believers! ;)
First of all if anyone's reading this, which I really doubt that anyone is because I'm pretty sure people just write these reviews to level up or to waste time or something, too obsessed with the thought that other people are going to read their reviews. I know I just write reviews about the cast of the show Avatar: The Last Airbender so I can level-up. Anywho, back to what I was saying, if anyone is reading this just to let you know Mark Hamill is a pretty awesome guy. He does the voice of Fire Lord Ozai on Avatar, and he is also Darth Vader. So it's like should be a scene in Avatar like this:
Ozai: Zuko, I am your father.
Zuko: NOOOOOOO!!!
I would probably pay to see a dub like that, especially if it was made by the creators.
Legend would have us believe that a curse has hit all but one of the original star wars actors (the one unaffected being Harrison Ford), i say thats a load of rubbish. Mark Hamill will always be known to every one as Luke Skywalker... but also the joker from another fantastic series Batman: t.a.s. Also i'm a huge fan of Phantom 2040 and Mark plays Dr. Jak in that. If you're a fan of "the flash" and have seen the series then you will also know him as the prankster. Although behind the scenes and providing voices Mark has worked hard, for a long time and deserves credit, where credit is due. I look forward now to finding other shows that M.H has completed.
I cant seem to remember Mark Hamill in other films besides his best or maybe even the best performance of a actor of all time, He is a great actor beacuse looking at the Popular Movies i have seen some of those movies myself and I think he is a Very Phenominal Actor and he should have gotten More Big Breaks.
Now, when most people think of Mark Hamill, most people would automatically think of "Luke Skywalker" of Star Wars and some would think, "Who the heck are you talking about?" Not that this is to detract him from all the fame he got, because he did a magnificent job as Luke, but it would seem like he would be pigeonholed into similar Luke roles for the rest of his career. Luckily, he found a way to expand his acting repertoire through a different source: voice acting. Thank God Bruce Timm decided to recast Joker and have Mark audition as Joker, because when I saw Joker on Batman: The Animated Series on TV, Mark's enthusiastic performance flawlessly comes through his lips and whenever the Joker laughed, it gave me chills. He continued his voice acting career with other villainous roles such as the Hobgoblin, Maximus the Mad, the Trickster, etc. When Mark Hamill talked about voicing Joker, he said it was an honor playing such an iconic antagonist and it has an honor just to have these many episodes of Batman with him as the Joker.
Hearing another voice for the Joker just isn’t the same, nobody can perform that same uniquely maniacal laugh. Mark Hamill is a brilliant actor especially the way his can manipulate his voice to sound so genuine in his character. Gladly he was the one chosen to play the role of my favorite villain and not some simpleton without a villainous manner to his voice. He could change the Joker’s laughter to give it any emotion he wanted, whether it was joy, fear or sadness. The emotion in his voice was so obvious that you could tell exactly what the Joker was feeling without needing to change the gruesome smile on the Joker’s unnaturally pale face. Mark Hamill did a brilliant job in Batman: The Animated Series.
Mark Hamill is such an incredible Actor/Voice-over artist of our time! He's like the energizer bunny, he just keeps going from one project to another he's simply amazing. I Loved him in Star Wars and in Village of the Dammed (Re-make) though it was sad to see he wasnt in the movie for long but still he was great in it and he dose a fantastic job as the joker in the batman the animated series! he Realy fooled me because I didnt know it was him until I looked up who dose the voice of the joker. The only thing missing from Mark's Resume is Singing But I doubt we'll be seeing his first Album out anytime soon, in the meantime Keep up the fantastic Job Mark! May The Force (and all the scripts for upcoming shows/movies) Be with you!
Mark Hamill was most well known for playing the role of luke skywalker in Star Wars A New Hope, Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars Return of the jedi. He played the role as well as anyone could have. He was a very talented actor who did other things just not noticed by most people. Personally i think he did best in episode VI I think that because he had done the other movies he had just a little bit better of expereince. I reccommend any movie or show or anything that Mark Hammil is in. Watch staar wars
I haven't seen much of mark since his role in the orginal star wars trilogy as Luke Skywalker, I have heard about him playing voices like the joker on batman, but haven't seen him except for interviews. Let me say that he played Luke Skywalker great, he nailed each line. He really should be in more he has so much talent.
All bow down to the amazing Mark Hamill, the actor who played Luke Skywalker and the guy who voiced The Joker. Mark Hamill truley have an amazing life. He was picked by George Lucus to play Luke Skywalker in the first Star Wars movies. Amazing this guy is. What i really enjoed most about him is when he got the role as The Joker in Batman The Animated Series. He continued to be The Joker and guest stars in Batman Gotham Knights, Superman TAS, Batman Beyond, Static Shock and Justice League Unlimited. I also remembered he played The Hobgoblin in Spiderman TAS. What a truly amazing man.
I have seen tons of Mark Hamill media such as the Original Star Wars Trilogy. I have also heard him voice character such as Joker, Stickybeard, Larry 3000, that hobo who lives in the subway on "Hey Arnold!" and a few more. This actor is one of the best. You rock Mark Hamill!
His role as The Joker was terrific. As was The Hobgoblin on Spider-man, and although I am not crazy about his role as Skeleton King on that 'robot monkey' show, I think Mr. Hamill is terribly unappreciated. His voice acting captures the mischevious nature of the villainous characters he's played. It would be a great idea to cast him as the Joker in the upcoming sequel to Batman Begins, however, it's unlikely his affinity with the role will be recognized by Hollywood. His Joker voice is the quintessential psychotic villain voice and I know that without it, the well written batman animated series would have lacked an important dimension.
When you think of Mark Hamill, you probably immediatley think, alright Star Wars. Well I have to admit I used to say that all the time, I mean he did great as Luke, was perfect in the perfect movies so not much more to say there. Really though he has played several other roles, especially voice acting, which I'll only mention the few I know alot about. Well first off he has played The Joker in the great Batman: The Animated Series, which for those who didn't know that might be thinking, no way The Joker was perfect in that show, Mark Hamill sounds nothing like that in Star Wars, well you're right, thats what my first action was as well, and he truly is great as Joker. He also has played Hobgoblin in the 90's Spider-Man cartoon, who if you listen sounds alot like Joker from B:TAS. As far as his personal side goes he's really great I've seen plenty of interviews with him for B:TAS and Star Wars, and he's a really nice guy. So not only is he a great actor, but he's a great guy as well. So give a round of applause for Mark Hmaill people.
