The remaining aspiring chefs compete in the eighth episode of the eighth season of Hell's Kitchen. A high-profile black tie dinner service is held to comemorate the program's 100th episode.
The remaining aspiring chefs are presented with a challenge that requires them to use local ingredients from Whistler, British Columbia to create three entrees. The entrees are judged by some very special guest judges-- Olympic silver medalist Sasha Cohen and a Olympic gold medalist Jonny Moseley. The winning team is sent for a fantastic dining experience at Campanile restaurant and also gets to meet chef Mark Peel. The losing team spends a day at a farm, doing grueling chores. The dinner service presents the two teams with an added twist-- having to create their own menus with three appetizers, three entrees and three desserts. This challenge is met with more success by one team than another, but both teams struggle at service. A service that seems to begin smoothly enough goes south when two chefs make a big mistake on fish. Ultimately, this mistake is enough to send one chef packing.moreless
Before heading back up to the dorms for the evening, the remaining chefs are presented with a surprise-- their friends and family. Re-energized by the surprise, they head into the next day's challenge with renewed confidence and are given 90 minutes to prepare 100 portions each of a dish of their choice for a group of 100 mystery guests. The guests turn out to be 100 chefs and one of the aspiring chefs receives glowing ratings, while another is humbled when their dish is heavily panned. The winning chef is sent off for a makeover and appears the next day with Chef Ramsay on Good Day Live. The two losing chefs endure cleaning and laundering. During the service, each of the chefs is given a chance at running the pass. All experience highs and lows, but all three put in an overall strong service. Chef Ramsay is left with a tough choice in deciding the final two.moreless
