Mark Wahlberg

Mark:(on his career) I've always looked at my career as an athlete would look at his: I won't play forever. Some don't know when to walk away, but the smart ones do.

Mark: (on what he misses from the days when he was a music star) I miss the ability to say, "F**k it, I'm not coming to this interview".

Mark: (asked who his mentor is) I would have to say Robert Duvall - he reminds me so much of my dad and he has always been a guy's guy. He's never really sold out that bad. I think we've all sold out a little bit, but he hasn't gone completely bananas.

Mark: (on playing a science teacher in "The Happening") It was tough because eighth grade was the last grade I graduated. I was like, "S**t!". I wasn't a good student, so I didn't know if I was going to be able to act like I was a good teacher. If I taught a subject I was comfortable in, maybe. But science? I don't think I even saw the inside of a science classroom.

Mark: (on if he'd met David after the Beckhams joined his neighbourhood) No, but that f***er lives down the road from me, man! He has to go back to the UK, because he has the paparazzi all over my house. I was in the UK for the last week and they don't want him back there.

Mark: I've got two kids - I'm in bed by nine o'clock.

Mark: When I was a rapper, the groupies didn't have to try too hard with me. Just show up at the hotel.

Mark: (on how life changed for him after the birth of his daughter) I learnt to appreciate, respect and love women the way you're supposed to. I don't have a problem showing a sensitive side. I have feelings, and I care about things and people, but I also like to see guys kick ass when it's necessary. I am still a guy's guy!

Mark: It's ridiculous that people call me a sex symbol. I don't feel like that at all. My daughter would get a kick out of it - she'd find it very funny. I'll take it though. I'm very humble. But it's certainly not the way I feel.

Mark Wahlberg: (on his foundation for kids) It's the first real achievement for me in my career, something that really means something, something that will last longer than the evening or carry through tomorrow, this will last a lifetime.

Mark Wahlberg: I never lie. I believe everything I say, so it's not a lie.

Mark Wahlberg: All that running around in my underwear put money in my pockets. I can focus on working in interesting movies without having to worry about supporting myself. (referring to his days as a Calvin Klein model)

Mark Wahlberg: He's a legend and I respect his work, so I went down and paid my respects when Charlton was on the set. He was nice but I think he lied a little. He said it was an honour to be in a movie with me, but I don't believe it. Planet of the Apes

Mark Wahlberg: I had had a troubled past, but like most rappers they go out and talk about it to kind of help their career.

Mark Wahlberg: I have a lot of real life experience with hustling and doing stupid stuff.
