Martha Hyer, an American actress, was born in Forth Worth, Texas on August 10, 1924. She attended Northwestern University and soon after her education, she starred in The Locket in 1946. Years following, she played various roles in movies such as Down Three Dark Streets (1954), Showdown at Abilene (1956), Battle Hymn (1957), Houseboat (1958), Ice Palace (1960), Desire in the Dust (1960), The Carpetbaggers (1964), First Men in the Moon (1964), Blood on the Arrow (1964) and several others. In 1964, she co-starred with Keenan Wynn in Bikini Beach. She also played the role of "Hannah Haley" in the episode Incident West of Lano. In 1958, her stellar performance in the movie Some Came Running, in which she played the role of Gwen French and starred opposite Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Shirley MacLaine, earned her an Academy Award nomination as Best Supporting Actress. Unfortunately, she lost out to Wendy Hiller in Separate Tables (1958). Martha's last film appearance was The Day of the Wolves in 1973.
