Mary Elizabeth Winstead in an American actress. Born on November 28, 1984 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Winstead turned to acting after her ballerina career ended due to her height. She first appeared in an episode of Touched By An Angel before becoming a series regular on the soap opera Passions (1999). Her first film appearance was a deleted scene in The Ring Two (2005). She continued to appear in bit roles before landing a major role in the horror flick Final Destination 3 (2006). This was followed by a major role in Live Free or Die Hard (2007) as John McClane's (Bruce Willis) daughter. That same year she had a part in Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof with Kurt Russell and Rosario Dawson. Winstead continues to have major roles in fan favorites, including her acclaimed appearance as Ramona Flowers in Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World (2010). In 2011, she starred in The Thing, a prequel to John Carpenter's 1982 film of the same name.
