Michael Callan is an American actor. He was born Martin Calinieff in Philadelphia on 22 November, 1935, and has also performed under the name Mickey Calin. Callan started his career aged 15, singing and dancing in nightclubs in Philadelphia and Las Vegas, before moving to New York. His first Broadway performance was in The Boyfriend in 1954, but his big break came playing Riff in the original Broadway production of West Side Story from 1957 until 1959. Columbia Pictures signed him after his run ended. His first film was They Came to Cordura in 1959. Later films included Pepe, The Victors, and Record City. Callan also had a successful television career, appearing in shows like Occasional Wife, 12 O'Clock High, Police Story, Scruples, and Charlie's Angels. In his later years, Callan returned to the stage, touring in productions of Killjoy, Love Letters, and Absurd Person Singular. Callan lives in California. He married three times and has two daughters.
