Michael F. Blake is a make-up artist who won a 1998 Emmy as part of the team on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and a nomination the following year for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He wet his feet in show business as a child actor, thanks to his father, prolific actor Larry J. Blake. Blake was offered a job by Universal as he was preparing to go to college, which he took. Eventually, he graduate from Cal State Northridge with a B.S. in film criticism theory in 2001. He also earned a masters from UCLA. Blake is the author of several books on film history.
