    • Michael cancels a public auction in April of 2009 and allow Julien auction to present a five-dayexibition of over 2,000 of his possessions included items such as his single white bejeweled glove and everything from his abandoned Neverland ranch, from the amusement rides down to the fixtures and fittings.

    • In March of 2009 Michael released news that he would be performing at London's O2 Arena in July 2009. Originally planning on only ten concerts, he extended this number to 50 due to overwhelming popularity. Initial sales saw 750,000 tickets sold at the rate of 11 tickets per second.

    • In 2007, Michael made a low-key move into a mansion in Las Vegas opposite Wasden Elementary School, which caused worry among parents of young children.

    • In 2008 Michael's friend David Gest revealed that when they ate at KFC together, Michael believed that simply peeling off the skin from the fried chicken would make it organic.

The show was hosted by British journalist Martin Bashir. Originally produced for the BBC, it earned strong ratings in the U.S. as well when it aired on VH1 and other networks. Jackson has repeatedly referred to the special as inaccurate and unfair. Neither the host nor the show's parent network issued any retractions or modifications, but Jackson later released videos from his personal camera which he'd had present at every interview with Bashir. From that recording it showed Bashir's original answers to Jackson, which he excluded in his documentary, and it showed things in a different light. The documentary made from Jackson's videos is called "The Michael Jackson Interview: The Footage You Were Never Meant to See."

    • Michael and his brother Tito were co-best men at the Liza Minelli-David Guest wedding.

    • In April 2006 Michael maneuvered himself out of bankruptcy by refinancing hundreds of millions of dollars in loans. He also negotiated a deal with record production company Sony to hand over shares in his treasured "Beatles" back catalogue. All rights to the catalogue had to be given up by May 31st, 2008. Michael had been dealing with financial problems since his drawn-out molestation trial in 2005.

Debra accused Michael in public of taking on another prescription pain pill habit, even providing the name of the doctor that filled them. She stated that she was concerned for her children's well-being under his care, and fought to gain her parental rights back. In the end Debra agreed to give up all visitation in exchange for re-instated yearly payments, this time of $750,000.

    • Michael agreed to pay ex wife Debra Rowe $900,000 a year in "hush money" after they split, according to court documents. In the divorce settlement, Debbie also picked up a Beverly Hills mansion, and a $4 million lump sum.

    • Michael has shut down the house on his Neverland Ranch, and dismissed most of the employees on the California estate. He has not closed the ranch in its entirety, but because he now resides in the middle east, he has closed the house, which reduces the need for a full staff. He is also placing his animals on sale as well.

    • Michael's Neverland Ranch was host to a private zoo and an amusement park. It was open for various children's charity events.
