Michael Jackson was the subject of the controversial 2003 documentary "Living With Michael Jackson." It profiled Jackson's hectic lifestyle and included his children. The show was hosted by British journalist Martin Bashir. Originally produced for the BBC, it earned strong ratings in the U.S. as well when it aired on VH1 and other networks. Jackson has repeatedly referred to the special as inaccurate and unfair. Neither the host nor the show's parent network issued any retractions or modifications, but Jackson later released videos from his personal camera which he'd had present at every interview with Bashir. From that recording it showed Bashir's original answers to Jackson, which he excluded in his documentary, and it showed things in a different light. The documentary made from Jackson's videos is called "The Michael Jackson Interview: The Footage You Were Never Meant to See."
