Varese Vintage Records will be reissuing on October 9th the Credibility Gap album "The Bronze Age Of Radio: Selections From Their legendary Los Angeles Radio Comedy Series."
The Credibility Gap began as a satirical daily newscast on rock station KRLA-AM, Los Angeles in the late 1960s. They developed sketches and songs to punctuate the news, and featured Harry Shearer David L. Lander Michael McKean and Richard Beebe
• This collection of their classic satirical on-air radio newscasts has been unavailable for over 25 years, and is now on CD for first time.
• In 1975, McKean, Lander and Shearer were hired as writers for the ABC sitcom, Laverne & Shirley. Penny Marshall, who starred as Laverne, suggested that Michael and David play recurring roles based on two characters they'd created with The Credibility Gap. That is how Lenny and Squiggy became regulars on the show.
• Features new notes written by Harry Shearer.
• Includes a special appearance by Albert Brooks.
