    • Michael: The biggest thing in a meet like this (he swam three 100 meter events in 41 minutes) is how mentally tough you can be. As many times as I can put myself in a situation where I have to be mentally tough, it's going to help me in the long run, especially with Worlds coming up.

    • Michael: A buddy of mine actually read of me being in the names of Tiger Woods and Roger Federer. That is a pretty big accomplishment and definitely something I'm proud of. They have changed their sports themselves, so hopefully I can do the same in swimming.

    • Michael: I think the Special Olympics and the Olympics are actually pretty similar. We all have dreams and we all have goals. And you have to work hard to accomplish your dreams and goals.

    • Michael Phelps: (About pimping out his car) I had to do it. I got a Cadillac Escalade. Put some rims on it, threw a couple TV's in there, and installed a system. I stuck my Xbox in there, I had to go for it. I did just sell it though.

    • Michael Phelps: (About his diet) I eat pretty much whatever I want. I don't have a strict diet. It's all about cramming in as many calories into my system as I possibly can. To be honest with you, I have a tough time keeping weight on.

    • Michael Phelps: (How long is he in the pool for each day) Anywhere from two to five hours a day, but if you don't put the work in, you can't really expect to get much out of it. I'm more than willing to put the work in so I'm swimming fast at the end of the year.

    • Michael Phelps: (Where does he see himself in future Olympics) I don't know for sure. I'll definitely go another four years and then see what happens. I would love to swim in New York in 2012 if the games end up there and finish my career in America. It would be really exciting just to have the games here, and then for me to go out on that kind of stage in my own country would just be amazing, but I'm really trying not to get too ahead of myself.

    • Michael Phelps: (What experience did he gain from the 2000 Olympics competing as a 15 year old) I had a better idea of what competing on that grand a stage would be like. I think I was a little less nervous because of that previous experience.

    • Michael Phelps: (Has the magnitude of his accomplishments set in) If you'd asked me that right after the Olympics, I would have said no, but at this point I think it has. Everything that happened last summer was so much fun and totally changed my life forever.

    • Michael: The support I've received from my sponsors has enabled me to raise the bar in swimming.
