  • Michael Ware is one of the few reporters over in Iraq who tells it like it is. Ware not only embedded himself with U.S. forces, but with Iraqi insurgents, acquiring a unique perspective about the war.

I saw an interview Ware did with Anderson Cooper called Iraq: The Hidden Wars, and it really brought to light the history of the Iraq War. I highly recommend anyone to watch that interview and really get a sense as to what is really happening in Iraq. During the interview, Ware talked about how he was almost killed by Al Qaeda. With a sombre tone, you could almost feel his heart still shaking with fear as he talked about his near execution. Ware then spent a few days in his hotel room, afraid to come out. But regardless of this fear, Ware came out a few days later and continued to go out and report from Iraq. Another man might have been scared off and become timid at the prospect of searching out a story, but Ware still reports with the same tenacity and zeal for the truth that attracted him to me in the first place. Today, Ware continues to report from Iraq and I sincerely appreciate and respect him for doing so, for putting his life in danger so we in America and others around the world might be better informed about this immoral war. I urge anyone with an appetite for the truth about the Iraq War, to pay attention to Michael Ware and his outstanding reporting.
