Before I started watching Rescue Me, I had never heard of Mike Lombardi. Actually, it was because of Mike Lombardi and what I read in TV Guide about his portrayal of Mike's sexual confusion storyline in season three that made me decide to start watching the show in first place. I for one think that he did a great job of portraying that storyline. Mike Lombardi is a very talented actor, and I absolutely love his character on Rescue Me. I really wish the show would use him more in the story lines. In my opinion, Mike Lombardi is way too underused on Rescue Me. All things considered, I would definitely say that I consider Mike Lombardi one of my favorite actors, and I really hope that we will be able to see a lot more of him in the future.
Michael Lombardi's Character on Rescue Me pulls off some of the shows more dynamic storylines and transistions. When Dennis Leary approached Lombardi about doing the show, he know that the young New York actor could cut the mustard of a difficult challenge; to play the Probie as both a comedian and a serious actor. The character dances between comic moments and serious subject matter that couldn't be pulled off by anyone else in that great ensemble of men and women. Lombardi can make the average all american man laugh, cringe and have comapassion all within his effective work in one scene. Way to go, Lombardi!
I really love watching Mike on Rescue Me as Mikey, one of the more sensitive yet unsure fire fighters of the crew. His recent story liens have kept me captivated and entralled and I want more. As typicly a secondary character he isn't always thrown directly into every plot line but he does have a good amount of screen time on the show. His character has developed over the years and I can't wait to see more and where he is headed next.
