Mimi Leder, American film director, was born January 26, 1952 to Paul and Etyl Leder. After graduating from the American Film Institute (AFI) Conservatory in 1973, Leder began working as a television script supervisor for shows like Spawn of the Slithis and Hill Street Blues. In 1986, she made her directing debut on L.A. Law. She has also directed a number of movies such as The Peacemaker, Deep Impact and Pay It Forward. She is married to actor/producer Gary Werntz with whom she has a daughter, Hannah.
