Nancy Gates, an American film and TV actress was born on February 26, 1926, in Dallas, Texas. She debuted in the film The Tuttles of Tahiti in 1942. The Magnificent Ambersons and The Great Gildersleeve followed in the same year. She was contracted by the production company, RKO at the age of 15 years and featured in the company's film Hitler's Children in 1943. She played many more roles in the following years, including that of Julie Grant in the production This Land is Mine, as Jane Mason in Bride by Mistake and as Cathy Jordan in Check Your Guns. In the 1950s, Gates appeared in several TV series, including Four Star Playhouse, The Pepsi-Cola Playhouse, TV Reader's Digest, Maverick, Perry Mason and Wagon Train. Nancy Gates featured in many films and Television series during her active career years before retiring in 1969. She played alongside such actors as Eddie Dean, Marin Sais and Jim Bannon. She was married to J. William Hayes between 1946 and 1992, when he died.
