Ned Beatty: Films make you a little lazy. If you're doing character parts or a cameo, you make good money, and you don't have to work a whole lot. I love theater, but it's work: six days a week, eight shows a week. At a certain age, you want to get up, have a cup of coffee and go back to bed!
Ned Beatty: As a kid, I really loved the church and what it seemed to be about. I loved that people talked about things in church they would never talk about anywhere else, would bring up subjects they wouldn't bring up anywhere else.
