Neil Patrick Harris

Neil: So I've done my fair share of theater. I have also been very fortunate in that I've been able to come to New York two or three times a year just to see as many shows as possible. I think the live theater culture here is incredible.

Neil: It's nice to establish yourself as an actor first and a singer second. Proof is such a tremendous piece of work, and I'm incredibly lucky to be a part of it. I'm sure that the musicals will happen in the future, though.

Neil: I've been taking a trapeze class for the last couple of years. I'm working on my double back flip right now.

Neil: I felt a little green, because Shakespeare writes the thought process within the text; it was tricky not to think of what to say and then say it, and instead just deliver the lines.

Neil: We're in such a volatile climate right now politically. I think they didn't want Assassins to not succeed due to popular opinion and politics, versus on its own merits. I can respect that.

Neil: Thankfully I've been quite lucky in my career, but it's always good to re-evaluate things and think about what else you want to do.

Neil: I'm a games and theory kind of guy. I love puzzles, so it was fun dissecting Shakespeare's prose.

Neil: I'm relatively sardonic, but I'm certainly not the playboy that he is. He's a quantity man. He's after as many crazy adventures and one-night stands that he can get, and I'm a bit more regular.

Neil: I grew up being educated by Sesame Street and gained a sense of humor from The Muppet Show. I'd give my right foot to be able to do a scene or two with the Muppets.

Neil: I'm a good tipper, depending on the service. I tip based on whether they did the little things like re-fill my glass. If they're bad I won't tip, just to prove a point.

Neil: If I wrote a musical it wouldn't be about me. Although I do some magic, so it would probably be about a magician who appeared and re-appeared all over the place.

Neil: Starship Troopers was great. It was great fun to work on something with blue screens and big budget special effects. Denise Richards was nice to look at too, of course.

Neil: The nice thing about voice-over work is that they can be in LA and you can do the recording in New York.

Neil: Tobey Maguire is a cool, mellow guy.

Neil: White Castle is a sort of smaller fast food chain in the middle of the country where you can buy bite-sized burgers called Sliders in packs of 4. It's a late night experience best saved for being under the influence of something. I'm not quite sure if they slide in better or out the other end.

Neil: I'm a fan of driving. I enjoy time spent in my car. Phone calls, talk radio. I drive a Toyota Prius. I named mine Judas. Judas Prius. Get it?

Neil: (On his character Barney from How I Met Your Mother) Barney's such an extreme character. He always was, even from the pilot. So you're sort of required to take a strong stab at it.

Neil Patrick Harris: The public eye has always been kind to me, and until recently I have been able to live a pretty normal life. Now it seems there is speculation and interest in my private life and relationships. So, rather than ignore those who choose to publish their opinions without actually talking to me, I am happy to dispel any rumors or misconceptions and am quite proud to say that I am a very content gay man living my life to the fullest and feel most fortunate to be working with wonderful people in the business I love.

Neil: No really! I just try and get good roles and hope that they're memorable.

Neil: (On Doogie Howser) I do still get a lot of recognition from that show. It was great at that time. I was granted an incredible education, because it was Steven Bochco, high quality, one camera... had a great time and made some money to boot.
