Nicolas: (comparing himself to his character on "10 Things I Hate About You") I'm a little less naive when it comes to relationships. I'm not as nervous and scared of girls as Cameron is in the show. He has a really tough time knowing what to do, and he fails so many times. And Cameron is very academic - he's in the AV club, chess club, and plays in the marching band. I don't really dabble in too much of that.
Nicholas: (in an August 2009 interview) I don't have a girlfriend. But I think I want one right now, just to counter-balance all the work and being on the show. It would be nice to have someone to go back to, a girl to call at the end of the night after a long day.
Nicholas: (on being part of "Walater and Henry") It was a very dramatic role, which was tough, but the experience I had on that film was a special one. John Larroquette and James Coburn taught me a lot of things while working on that film. The Emmy nomination was unbelievable. I was really proud to be a part of that. And it was a cool way to kick off my career as an actor.
Nicholas: (in a 2008 interview) Right now, when audiences view film on the internet they want viral. Audiences are looking for funny stuff that they can tell their friends about, and at the same time, it has to be immediately rewarding to audiences. It's more custom-viewing, as in; they watch what they want to when they want to.
Nicholas: (in a 2009 interview) I'm kind of just going with the flow, and I think that's the best way to go about it at this point in my career...take jobs that will be exciting and new and build up to what I've already got. Hopefully five years, there's still tons of great work, and I can just keep having a blast doing what I do, because I love it.
Nicholas: Some people work on their image. Some people work on publicity and those things lead to jobs for them, but my thing is really being a phenomenal actor.
Nicholas: (on how to be successful as a young actor) It's a tough business because there are a lot of people my age, a lot of people that look like me, and so you just have to really just want it. When you get a job, just totally embrace it and that's what I've been doing: having such a great time. I've just been really blessed recently. Stay focused, I think is the biggest thing.
Nicholas: In Facebook when you put a status update, you might get a few people commenting 'Oh that's cool.' But when you post it on Twitter, you can get 10, 20, 30 a hundred responses to something. That's really cool. It makes you feel like there are fans out there that really care... not just fans, my friends are on twitter too. It's like you're having a constant conversation with someone.
Nicholas: I love episodic television because it is just a machine. As a guest star, you go in for a couple days, work with KILLER scripts, and then you're out. You get to meet so many actors, play very unique characters (on Cold Case I play a Marine in 1951), and it's quick.
Nicholas: On every film I've worked on, I start the project with a strong sense of my character, but there's always a day, about a week into the shoot, where the role just clicks. And it's such a cool feeling, to feel completely at home within a character, and that everything you do is truly the manner of that character.
