    • Hiyama has appeared in several popular Japanese magazines in which he has done photo shoots, interviews, news reports, etc. Some such magazines he's been featured in includes AnimeV, Animedia, Seiyuu Grand Prix, Virtual Idol and Animage.

    • As of early October 2007 according to Anime News Network, Hiyama is one of the most prolific male seiyuu in the industry with a total of 155 roles and is tied with Ikue Ohtani.

    • Hiyama's favorite food is ramen.

    • Hiyama made a guest appearance on the radio show, "Tokyo Boogie Night" on March 15, 1997. He made three more appearances on this show on November 23, 1997, May 30, 1999, and April 6, 2003.
