Noel Peirce Coward
Born in 1899 English playwright Noel Coward was known for his charm and multi-talents in the field of entertainment. He composed music, sung, directed, acted and wrote some of the most memorable plays of the 20th century. He appeared on stage at the ripe old age of 14 in the play Peter Pan where he played the character Slightly. He wrote more than three hundred songs and adapted many of his plays for motion pictures. One of his plays Calvacade was made into a motion picture and won the Academy Award in 1933. Knighted in 1969, Sir Noel Coward also served during World War II.
