Noel: Just straight-up erotica. I don't flail around with bats or that. Or those whip things that they set on fire on the beaches of Ibiza.

Noel: (on the possibility of a solo career) I've got a backlog of songs that are slowly building up. I've got about four or five songs which are probably too far in the past as far as the band is concerned, but which could work on my record. I don't know for sure but it looks like its coming.

Noel: It's too complicated to talk about the big American cities in just a single sentence, because they're different every time I visit, But Middle America always looks like the 1970s, I think. Even when they build new buildings, they're kind of building the exact same ones that they made in the '70s. That's probably why there are so many murders in the Midwest - everyone gets bored looking at the same buildings.

Noel: Manchester bored me because it's too small. You can't fart without everybody knowing about it.

Noel: If you don't want to be the biggest band in the world, you may as well pack it in.

Noel: Americans are crazy. They have this fascination with throwing their shoes on stage. I've been to a lot of shows in me life, some good and some bad. But I was never moved to take off me shoes and throw it at the lead singer.

Noel: (on The Backstreet Boys) They should be shot.

Noel: I've always been into guitars... we want to put keyboards on, but keyboard players don't look cool onstage, they just keep their heads down. There has never been a cool keyboard player, apart from Elton John.

Noel: With every song that I write, I compare it to The Beatles. The thing is, they only got there before me. If I'd been born at the same time as John Lennon, I'd have been up there.

Noel: I'm a happy-go-lucky character. I'm not that miserable. But I can never let anyone into my world.

Noel: I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my Mum. I know I've got Irish blood because I wake up everyday with a hangover.

Noel: If I were in The Beatles, I'd be a good George Harrison.

Noel: Somehow I don't ever see myself on stage playing a mouth organ to 150 people on a Wednesday. Every time I write a song, I envisage them in football stadiums with loads of people going f*cking mental - that's Oasis.
