Any questions, suggestions, thoughts, or comments on Oliver Platt?

On TV, he's probably most famous for his appearance as Russell on Huff. Some might know him from his guest roles on The West Wing or Nip/Tuck. Oliver Platt considers himself as a character actor and appeared in many movies (Flatliners, Crusoe, Lake Placid, Casanova, The Ice Harvest and many more).

Even in a minor role he is still good to steal a scene.

I am so glad you like him! He is a great guy and I love watching him.

I think you would like Huff. I was so unhappy when they canceled it. And big hugs for making this forum less lonely!

EDIT: First time I saw your signature! Oh, I think he's adorable, as well

Film recognition - A Time to Kill

But I do watch Nip/Tuck and that's the 1st TV series I've seen him in.

    I like the poll.

Welcome Hari! Great tip! I have to check that movie out. I made a quick web search and it looks very interesting.

Huff has two seasons with a total of 26 episodes. It is about this successful psychiatrist Huff who is handling high class cases. Due to a bad experience he enters a midlife crisis. There is his wife and son, his mother-in-law, his mentally challenged brother and his best friend Russell (Oliver Platt). Russell is pretty much addicted to everything with a self destructive lifestyle. Surprisingly, he is also a very successful lawer with some questionable work ethics. He would do anything for Huff and their friendship is beautiful to watch. The show can be shocking at times (Showtime, after all, there are the obligatory curse words and some sexual taboos are broken) but I love the characters and I can relate to the topics. It is about friends and family, you may hate them sometimes, but you love them after all. it is about being there for each other, dealing with the mother-in-law, compromises as to career and children and so on. It is hard for me to go into detail why I love it without spoiling you . The show wasn't incredibly successful but it got some critical acclaim. I tried to find a youtube clip but there are hardly any and the adorable Russell clip that I found is extremely spoiling. I'd just say watch one episode and decide then. It is very different from VM or Supernatural. It is just a feeling that you might like it. The tone is perhaps comparable to Six Feet Under. It is a character driven show and if you like them, you like the show. *hugs*

And your signature will be Logan, soon, am I right or am I right? Already curious!

** Hi Tish ** Time to Kill was harsh subject, but some good acting.

Huff does sound interesting, thanks for the recommendation. I'll have to put it on my DVD rental list.

Yep, avatar is Logan-ish, but I'm not sure if this "look" is for Wolverine or another movie. The sig is some logos I pieced together from a fall series, HBO's True Blood.

Hi Hari! Definitely no light stuff but it appealed to me in a way.
*reconsiders her broad smiley behind the title above*

I was a little confusing, sorry, I do know your new Hugh Jackman avatar, of course. With Logan I was teasing Tish a little bit because she is such a fangirl and plans to change her signature.

I liked Huff, if you feel like checking it out, I'd be interested in what you think. And that True Blood signature of yours is really stylish. I hope this show willl be good, we need another good vampire drama.

I LOVE it! That is so awesome. *passes out from pure jealousy*

Genius! You lined up quite a row. You have to be aware of angry Sam-Fangirls, though. "brood" And who wouldn't love Adam Baldwin - with the hat - singing. And a crushed Logan. I am missing words, what a great avatar - emails! And the chair dance?

*Miss, I am taking exactly what she's having, thank you*

    Great job, indeed.

Yap, back to Oliver Platt! I am all for promoting him. It's a mystery that the internet is not full of him. Here's a nice clicky, though.
