panic at the disco is one of the best and the coolest bands in the world .their music is great but does not came close to fall out boy's take this to your grave and infinity on high.their best album is the first one with the i write sins for tragedy but its better if you do and teen hearts beating.they have perform live in many countries and actually quite good at it ...perform live that is.fall out boy vs panic at the disco ... no doubt fall out boy owns them in any other way but i must say that this band can surpass fall out boy in the near future.
  • A long-winded sort of review, in which I say EXACTLY what I think, and still manage to be confusing.

I originally came across Panic two years ago. "Hmm." I said, after taking a longer than customary decision period. "I like them." Their music was, to me, different. At the time, only A Fever You Can't Sweat Out had been released. I found the rhythms hypnotic, and toe-tappingly good. In my head, I did my customary tear-it-apart. I listened to each song, over and over and over again, and I listened to a different instrument each time. "They use more than the customary instruments." I thought, a little awed. "Hell. Yes."

The music was hard to genre. Was it electronic? They were definitely using a synthesizer, but...nah. Rock? Probably. In a backwards sort of way. Emo? Well, they were emotional. Punk? Now I was just being silly.

After giving up my attempt to categorize them, I looked at their lyrics. Originally, I had done what was average for me. Listen, and make sense of it the best I can. Put it to my own experiences. And I could do this for some of the songs. Build God, Then We'll Talk was easy. It was a story. But others...What, I wondered, was the meaning of Camisado? I know now that it's a tale of an alcoholic father, and am glad I was unable to relate.

Their new album came out earlier this year, and I did something I normally don't do. I grabbed my wallet, walked to Wal-mart, and bought it. I'd heard rumors of it being different.

"Different good, or different bad?" I had asked.

Those I questioned shrugged their shoulders, and gave me helpless looks. One friend even went so far as to splutter out an "I can't tell yet!"

To tell the truth, I wasn't sure at first either. It was folksy, and mellow, and vaguely reminded me of the Beatles. There was less bitterness, and at one point, they even sang of clouds. But there are more instrumentation in this than the last album. I could hear low brass and low reeds in the backgrounds of some songs. The songs are so light and airy. And as with the first album, the more I listened to it, the more I liked it. The lead singer's voice matured, the lyricists lyrics did too, and the whole band seems to be pulling itself together before my very eyes.

I've seen interviews with the band members, disparaging of being seen for their faces, and not their music. And I've seen too many a comment over the looks of the band members (often made by young fans) to prove this worry something other than groundless. And while I am certainly not someone who will turn a blind eye to a pretty face, I'd just like to let anyone listening know, that I heard the music first.

Panic(!) at the Disco is an alternative-ish style band featuring Brendon Urie(lead singer),(George) Ryan Ross(guitar), Spencer Smith(drums), and Jon Walker(bass). Their 1st album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, came out in 2005, and my favorite songs are Camisado, But its Better If You Do, Time to Dance, and, of course, I Write Sins Not Tragedies. Their newest album, Pretty.Odd., came out this year and pretty much every single song on there is my favorite. :] People say that Panic has changed, and they did, but everyone changes. That's what That Green Gentleman is about. :] I seriously love Brendon's voice. It soothes me. :] And their music videos are just so flippin hilarious! Welll..... what can I say? They have great music, great style, great looks(hey, you just can't ignore how adorable Ryan is!)....and they're just great altogether!

Panic Ar The Disco is a pretty good band. I find that some of their songs I can't stand, but a majority of them seem to always be stuck in my head. When they were all the rage (and still are) a few months ago, that's when I heard one of their songs and had to download it. I then found a few more that I loved and downloaded them too. Although I prefer Fall Out Boy, Panic At The Disco Is a good band too. Some of my favorites are, "But It's Better If You Do", "Camisado", "The Only Difference Between...", and "Time To Dance".
  • What a great band!

Panic! at the disco is like one of the best bands of all time! Jon Walker, Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith, and Brandon Urie ROCK, the are the perfect panic! people! and the are sorta like Fall Out Boy!!!! Besides, well this is kinda off topic, I saw a shirt at hot topic, it was soooo cute, it said "Hispanic! at the disco" isn't that adorable (i would have gotten it but, i am not hispanic, so i was bummed) to bad "American! at the disco" doesn't really work! i really love i write sins not tragidies and honey, theres a good reason these tables are numberd you just havent thought of it yet! those are really good songs!
  • There young, talented and cool!!

Panic! at the disco is a very talented for a young band. Their songs have a really strong message. Adultery, drug addiction, prostitution, and religion are just some of the lyric topics Panic! at the dicso wrote on. Brendon Urie is the singer of the band. Besides his voice he plays lots of instruments such as the keyboard, accordion, piano, organ, cello, bass, drums and guitar. Ryan Ross is the lead guitarist and lyricist. Spencer Smith is the drummer of the band and the youngest member. Finally John Walker who is the oldest band member and the bassist. Totally great band..
  • This is an awesome band!

I have loved this band since the start. Their stage show is awesome. These guys are so good at what they do. each member have their streaths and weakness, but they always come together for something cool. These boys are about the same age as me, which makes them even cooler to me. These boys are good friends off the stage as well as on the stage. Their music is like, something you wouldn't expect from some boys, But its real, there are real emotions that Ryan writes into his songs, They have a meaning to them. Not many bands to the long song titles which makes you think, Why does this song, have this title? its just awesome.

  • Best band ever!

Panic! is an original and very talented band. There lead singer, Brendon Urie, has an awsome voice. Ryan Ross wrote there album and he did an awsome job. Yes, they are very cute. But, I like them because they are a great band with someone who can sing and people who can play there instruments well. I hate it when people say that Panic! is gay. To me, it's like "Panic isn't gay! And, if they were, who cares!? There still very talented." It's also annoying to me when people only like them because there "hot." Don't pay attention to there looks. Pay attention to there music. Another thing that annoys me is when people say there "emo". If you listen to there music, you'll know that there music is not emo. They may dress a little emo somtimes, but there music is not. Panic! is so unique that they can't go into a catogory. So, stop labeling them. That's the end of my review.
  • I'm obsessed with them...

I got they're CD in July because they were on DecayDance, and I of coures, liked "I Write Sins, Not Tradgedies" and "But Its Better If You Do", and now I'm REALLY obsessed with them. They're one of the best bands ever ^.^They're lyrics are really creative and they have the best drummer like, ever...They have great vocals as well ^.^ My favorte songs are "Camisado", "London Beckoned Songs About Money Written By Machines", and "The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide is Press Coverage". The thing that annoys me is that people think that they're emo. If they were emo, they would write about how much they hate they're lives and how much god hates them. But they dont have ONE song about ANY of that stuff. It also annoys me when people only like them for "I Write Sins Not Tradgedies" or, because they think Ryan or Brendon are hot...anyways, Panic!at the Disco is AWESOME. ^.^
  • I'm Obecessed...

I love their music! I'm listening to their album "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" as I type this! It has become a daily thing for me to listen to this album! OMG! I dont even know all their names! lol I'm not obcessed with the band I'm obcessed with the music. My favorite songs are "London Beckoned Songs About Money Written By Machines" and "Camisado" What is funny is I thought that their music wasn't something that I'd like cause the first song of theirs I heard was "Time to Dance" I didn't like it the first time i heard it... now it's one of my faves!

I love their vid "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" lol that's how I got hooked... I usually dont watch music vids I do when I really bored and don't want to be on the computer... which is like never... So it's good thing I caught that one... I like how they have the wedding party as a bunch of mime type people...lol The third song I heard of theirs was "The Only Difference Between Suicide and Martyrdom Is Press Coverage" I loved that one for a little while...

I love the random titles of their songs... they seem to have nothing to do with the song itself... unless u like analize the song like "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" to get the title I had to watch the vid a couple of times...

lol Well if you haven't listened to the whole cd then u should cause its really good especially when all the songs are put together instead of jumbled on a playlist... Or you could look up the order of the songs... cause they're better in order...

hehe I have the whole CD on my Ipod... ^_^ The song I am listening to at this moment is "I Constantly Thank God For Esteban"... Good song again...

    Yeah listen to them!! please?

That is a line from my fav song "I Constantly Thank God For Esteban" on their album "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out". This band is amazing! They have catchy songs & hooks. Their album is like one story, a cliffhanger, you wanna keeep hearing what's next. Their latest video "But It's Better If You Do" was a GREAT video! The album should be made into a musical or musical-film, because it has the element of those. The album and it's element is brilliant! There is not one song on that album that I do not like. You should take a listen to them, they're awesome! In about 20 or less years they shoul be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!

  • Panic! comes from Las Vegas. Formed when friends Spencer and Ryan became tired of doing blink-182 and got Brendon and Brent. They recorded their debut album, A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out.

omg BEST BAND EVER!! i really truly love this band. They are definitely original and talented! its amazing to think that they have made their debut album soo well and they have the best songs...if they released every song as a single then they would all each become a hit!

i really respect this band for what they do coz its really rare to find a band that they be soo diverse while still hip at the smae time with one half of their album being techno-ish (with synthesizers n stuff) and the other half of the album having this Cabaret, 1900's sound to it which i really dig...

lastly i like to say that this band is not Emo and it annoys me to think that most ppl think that way about them! can u honstly say that they sond like bands like Simple Plan where SP constanly sing about how cr*p life is and how they slit their wrists every minute of every day and how they just want to die? i dont think so...

Panic! at the Disco is a fantastic band who can produce fantastic music that is not too whiny (though sometimes) . The music videos that they make are really cool , each one having special themes. The only negative thing I have about them is that they do try to hard sometimes. They seem to want to be something that the aern't, and they think that they are, but it isn't too common with them and it does not shine above the positive about them. The language they use in there songs are PG-13 material, but 10+ is good age.
  • I love them!!!!!!

    Oh please shes not bleeding

on the ballroom floor just for the attention.

    Thats just ridiculous.....ly on.

But she sure is gonna get it (the attention and the bulets)

here's the setting, fashion magazines line the walls,

now the walls line the bullet holes..

yea you sure let her have it. She didn't choose this role,

but she'll play it and make it sencere, so you cry

But they believe it from the tears and the teeth

right down to the blood at her feet.

Boys will be boys, hiding in estrogens and Aubergine dreams.

Have some composure, and where is your posture?

oh no no! You're pulling the trigger all wrong.

Come on this is screaming photo op.

    Give me envy

    Flash

    Give malice

    Flash

    Give me attention

    Flash

    Give me.....a break

When I say shotgun you say wedding. Or whatever comes to mind.

  • When I say shot gun, you say wedding! Shotgun - wedding! Shothun - wedding.

I first heard of Panic! AT The Disco through Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz. I was reading an article where he kept saying how great they were. And as a fan of FOB, I was very curious.

I saw the video for "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" in the beginning of 2006. I thought the video was really cool. The first time I heard the band I was so extremely impressed. I wanted to hear more, and went to Borders, listening to the album. I only heard clips of songs, but was impressed by just those. I bought the album, and after playing it knew it was money well spent. Their debut album "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" is one of the best albums I've ever heard in my life. Every song is great. The lyrics are clever and witty. Plus, you can really get into the music. I dare anyone to listen to the album and say that they don't enjoy it.

Panic! At the Disco is a talented band who will continue to find success. I see a Grammy in this bands future. They certainly deserve one.

I love panic! the first song I heard was I write sins not tragedies, and I loved that song, then I saw the video for it, and I loved it even more=D and then But it's better if you do came out on video, and that's when I really wanted the CD, and now I have it =) It's the best, it's so cool, one half is all futuristicish, and the other half is all olden timish. I really can't decide on my favourite song, but I do really like The only difference between martyrdom and suicide is press coverage. And It's time to dance is awesome as well =D I'd advise you to get it....NOW o-O.
  • Their version of the more punk side of rock makes them all the more awsome!

Umm.... Okay, what about this band is not friggin awsome??? Their songs are so original and they make me feel like I am back in the fifties in their music videos. I love the way Brendons voice never cracks. I am guessing all the guys in the band have taken vocal lessons because sometimes you hear backup in a song. I personaly love Its time to dance but my absolute favorite songs... egad! I cant choose. Probably I write sins not tragedies, But its better if you do, and time to dance. A fever you cant sweat out is definatly number one when you are seeking originality!
