Paul Anka is born on 30th July 1941 in Ottawa, Canada. He’s the son Lebanese Christians. They owned a restaurant there. With 14 he started to perform in song contests in Canada. Shortly after that he performed in New York where he presented his own song called Diana. The producer was so amazed with that performance so he recorded the song in 1957. The song was sold over 10 Mio. And Paul Anka became a teen idol of the late 1950’s. The single Diana is the second most sold after White Christmas performed by More Bing Crosby.
Till 1961 he had several other top hits, so he was already millionaire.
In this time he wrote several songs for other singers like Buddy Holly and played in several films. He also translated several French songs for Frank Sinatra. He also wrote She's a Lady for Tom Jones.
Since a few years he performs in Las Vegas.
His biggest role he got as an actor was in The longest day in 1961.
