    • Paul: (on fracturing his scapula in a golf-cart incident) Sorry to say it was self-inflicted. I was at a party and had a little too much to drink, and we thought it was a good idea to go out on a golf cart and try and jump some sand dunes with it. You don't have to tell me, it was dumb. It hurts pretty bad, but I'm getting some treatment and I think I'll be able to qualify and at least start the race. If I can get my motion back I should be alright.
    • Paul: Now I have been hit by every Andretti but Marco.
    • Paul: I don't go out and tell people what I have done in my career. I'm aware of how long I have been in the sport and how many races I have won, but it is nothing for me to show off about. People either love me or hate me. I just want to be remembered as a tough racer who has been consistent year in and year out for 15 years, which isn't easy to do.
    • Paul: I am totally happy being in the Champ Car World Series. I get to race in Canada three times a year, which is very important to me and I just love to road race.
