Perdita was named after the character of the same name in the William Shakespeare play, "The Winter's Tale." In the play, Perdita was the daughter of Leontes, King of Sicilia, and his wife Hermione.

In 2006, Perdita appeared as Young Beatrix (Age 18) in the movie, Miss Potter, but her parts were subsequently removed from the movie.
