Peter Wingfield

Peter: I was well into my medical training before I got the strength to actually say no, this is what I want to do. I want to be an actor. So that's what I should pursue. Yeah, it was quite a long way into my medical training. It was actually five and a half years into my medical training.

Peter: (On filming the movie "Highlander Endgame") I never thought there would be a time when I pined for the calmness and organizational skills of the French. It's just very confused here, you have many different people talking in different languages and it just makes the simplest things really difficult to happen.

Peter: I'm a professional liar. I pretend to be somebody who clearly I'm not.

Peter: (On playing Max in the movie "Uncovered") It was liberating to play someone deeply unpleasant... slimy.

Peter: If you can tell I'm acting I'm not really good at it.

Peter: I have great affection for Methos. I like the character and I have fun playing him and some of the best work I've done in my life has been on this show, so it's great to have that recognized by people.

Peter: I always play bad guys. If you have an English accent, you must be the bad guy. I think that is a fundamental basic precept in the North American mind. Anyone who speaks with an English accent cannot be trusted.

Peter: (On attending his first Highlander convention) There were 2,000 people in the room. It was like being a rock star. People were screaming, almost hysterical with the excitement of being in the same room as you. That's not normal — particularly from a British perspective, where we're usually so reserved. That outpouring of emotion is really shocking.

Peter: I found it all rather exciting. It's a wonderful feeling when your work is taken so seriously.

Peter Wingfield: (On filming the movie "Highlander: The Source") And I have to say, the first day of filming was unexpectedly emotional for me. As I put on the long black coat and drove to the set in the pre-dawn gloom, I could feel the presence of an old friend I have not seen for some years now. Really, in a very physical way, I could 'feel' him. And I was overwhelmed, possessed even, by the sense of him, tears welling up in my eyes as I formed the words in my head, over and over again, "Methos is alive."
