Philip Winchester

Birth Name

Philip C. Winchester

Philip Winchester is an American actor who has been acting since he was a teenager. He grew up in a small town in Montana where his father attended acting classes at the local university and his mother worked nights at a nursing home to support his family. He left home at seventeen to pursue his love of acting at London's prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) where he starred in The Crucible, The Master and Margarita, and Blood Wedding.

While at school, he fell into drugs and alcohol which eventually led him to a return to his faith, and he is now a devout Christian and family man. On February 4, 2015, his wife Megan Coughlan gave birth to their daughter Charlie.

He has had parts in the films Thunderbirds and Flyboys, starred in NBC's adaption of Crusoe (2008) and had a significant part in Starz' Camelot (2011). He's arguably best known for his role as Sgt. Michael Stonebridge in Cinemax's Strike Back (2010). During filming of Strike Back he received intense weapons and tactical training by British SAS and SBS and did almost all of his stunts himself.
