Phyllis: I walked around in my own anonymity for years. When I was younger, I may have turned a few heads because I was tall and thin. I wasn't real attractive, just sort of in the nebulous middle. Then I got older and got heavy, and people stopped holding doors for me at the bank-it was like I wasn't even there.
Phyllis: (on dating anyone; during a September 2007 interview) No one's ever asked me about that. Right now, I'm just not in a relationship. I've met a couple Mr. Almosts, but no Mr. Right.
Phyllis: (On working as a casting director for 18 years) I had been honing a craft I didn't really know I was honing. God did have a better plan for me.
Phyllis: In my casting life, it was nothing to work 12-hour days, so Monday through Friday, you're getting up and going to work. Please don't misinterpret-I loved my casting work and being with actors, but it was a full, 12-hour day. So I don't think I would have had the energy that I have now. There's just a pressure that's off now, so it frees you up to do other things that you want to do just because you love them.
Phyllis: I was like two different people when I was onstage and offstage. When I was onstage, I really beamed.
Phyllis: (On the differences between her and her The Office character) I think I know myself better than she does.
Phyllis: (On the 2007 writer's strike) The strike was necessary. I'm glad it's settled, and I'm glad to get back to work.
Phyllis: I know who I am as a person. And I am very happy with where I am.
