  • Quotes

    • Pink: When my mum kicked me out of the house, I had an opportunity to spend time with my dad, but I was so gone at that point that I wasted six months of my life I could have spent with my dad...that's the one regret in my whole life.

    • Pink: (on where her anger came from when she was young) My parents split up. My dad left and I figured out that I had a lot more freedom without him there. The house was a more peaceful place without them fighting all the time. So I did a lot of drugs, ran away from home and pretty much lost my mind...up until I was about 15 years old, when my mum kicked me out. I dropped out of high school, had a record deal six months later and haven't touched a drug since Thanksgiving of '95.

    • Pink: (on having her first child) Everyone gives you this terrifying picture of no sleep at all, bickering which leads to divorce...they made it sound like waterboarding. It's not that bad! I think I've cried more than she has and that's just because I'm emotional and a little nuts.

    • Pink: (on naming her daughter Willow) The willow is my favourite tree. I grew up near one. It's the most flexible tree in nature and nothing can break wind, no elements, it can bend and withstand anything. I love that sentiment. I want that for her.

    • Pink: (on how teachers treated her and the effects of it) Did I deserve it? - in the end yes, but I feel I just conformed to the label they gave me. I think a lot of kids just get frustrated and act the way the teachers expect them to.

    • Pink: (on the use of bear fur) I have written to the Queen and told her that I want to her to stop the use of real fur on the hats worn by the Brigade of Guards at the Palace. One or two Canadian bears are killed for each hat and that's totally unnecessary when they could be wearing faux instead. I think the Queen will listen to me because there is no reason for the guards to continue to wear these when animals are being killed just so they look good. It's a work in progress.

    • Pink: (on Prince William) I wrote to him to protest about fox hunting and I figured he would be this stuffy, privileged a**hole. But he's like a redneck from the south. If you're brought up shooting and hunting animals, if you really think it's second nature and you're blasting away then it's hard to see the other point of view. You need educating.

    • Pink: (on her 2010 Grammy performance) When I walked out and I was nervous, my voice was shaking. Then when I get in the silks, I'm no longer thinking. My mind turns off and my voice turns on.

    • Pink: (revealing she once set her bedroom on fire during sex on Thanksgiving) We decided between six of us to drink three bottles of tequila before 11am, and when somebody was saying grace, I decided that the sweet potatoes should be on my father-in-law's head, so I dumped the bowl on his head. And then I set my bedroom on fire because me and (estranged husband) Carey [Hart] went upstairs to have sex and I left a cigarette in the oven mitt.

    • Pink: I've seen my dad cry four times in my life and one of them was when I played him Family Portrait. Mom cried for days and then it became this big thing: 'I didn't know you were so affected - Let's talk.' I'm like, 'It was just a song. I'm fine!

    • Pink (On the song, "Dear Mr. President"): Its a questioning song. I think that's one of my... more intelligent songs, mostly I write in a sort of way, "I think this, you think that, go to hell, your wrong." But with Dear Mr. President, its, "These are my questions, they're not theoretical." I think they're questions that a lot of people have, and we could probably use some answers. I feel you know, there's some opinions, MIXED in there, subtly, but mostly, it's just questioning.

    • Pink: (on impersonating Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan & the Olsen twins in "Stupid Girls") I have no idea what their reactions are to the video. I haven't heard anything yet, but to be honest, I don't really care. I would like to clarify that I do actually really like the Olsens. They are college girls, CEOs of their own companies - really smart girls. I'm attacking the general idea more than the people. I just used those people to explain what I meant.

    • Pink: I have never really encountered anybody that was rude to me. Well, not to my face anyway. Sometimes you might get the odd person in an entourage trying to show off, which does amuse me, but I don't really find them offensive because I don't really care. I've been really lucky because I've met some incredible people, like Steven Tyler and Linda Perry - all the people that I've worked with. I kind of sort through the bullshit and get straight to it.

    • Pink: (backing down on her call to boycott Australian wool products) I probably could have done a lot more research on my own. That's the lesson I'm taking from this. My message was, in my mind, boycott animal cruelty - not an entire industry, not Australia, obviously, because it's my favourite country. Then going back, I was speaking without thinking and I actually did say ban Australia, which is bullshit. It's not something that I can agree with.

    • Pink: People are always so surprised when they meet me. Firstly, that I'm 'so tiny', and secondly that I'm 'so sweet'. They seem surprised that they're not scared of me. The aggressive side of me comes across in my music, but I'm just a sweet girl.

    • Pink: My dad raised me with some good advice: 'Always tell the truth. Always shoot from the hip. You might not have many friends, but you'll never have enemies, because people will always know where you're coming from.

    • Pink: (when interviewing Matt Damon) Is there anything you want me to ask you, besides your phone number?
